Very pleasant four day stay. Quiet room upstairs, super breakfast with irresistable hot bread, Lao coffee. Basic supplies and services covered. Need own bathroom supplies. Handy to walk to riverbank, cafes, temples, craft shops. Opportunity to connect to local community.

Stayed at Lotus Villa with another couple in late October. After a hectic trip through Northern Thailand and a harrowing trip on the slow boat from Huay Xai, Lotus Villa was just what we needed. A place to kick back our heels and relax. We had two Waterlily Rooms, opening out onto the wonderful gardens, where we spent one memorable afternoon getting pleasantly inebriated. The staff, from Richard down to the girls and boys on reception, were a mine of information and always attentive to our needs. The hotel is close to the main street and riverfront area so restaurants are within easy walking distance. Two highlights of the trip: watching the monks collect their daily alms at 6.00AM, then watching them chanting prayers at the Wat at 6.00PM. Our one regret? We didn't stay longer and more fully explore Luang Prabang - definitely the jewel of Laos.

The small hotel located 200 meters to the main street, with many vibrant, good restaurants around. Because of nice garden with huge bananas trees in the courtyard, you feel like in the village. Very friendly and helpful staff, always smiling. Also attractive, uncommon breakfast with excellent fruits.
From the other side, we had very small room, type Frangipani, which is cosy, clean and funny arranged, but surely, it should not be named as boutique hotel. Without TV, wardrobe, fridge, phone, with rather Spartan bath equipment is nice lodging, but that`s all.
However, finally we recommend this small hotel, especially for a shorter stay.

The hotel is nice and the location could not be much better. Rooms are pretty average/standard though. Not much to say about the quite basic interior with a king bed, a bath tub in the room (not in the bath room), 2 chairs and a sink. Breakfast is very nice and served in the garden. Since we live in Thailand, we automatically compare this accomodation with the Thai equivalent. I would say in Thailand you get more value for the same money. You would expect it to be the other way around. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with Lotus Villa....perhaps a bit over-priced only.....
