About 30 minutes from Luang Prabang, Tad Sae falls were a delight to visit. 20,000 kip for the boat trip and another 20,000 kip for entry to the falls and another 5,000 kip for sugar cane to feed the elephants. It is very disconcerting to see three elephants running at you to get the sugar cane. The elephant enclosure is clean and spacious and the elephants were in excellent condition unlike the elephants seen in Vietnam.
The falls themselves were delightful, not as spectatular at Kang Si falls but the falls and the area around the falls has a quiet peaceful feel to the place. The main swimming hole was wonderful after the trip to the falls in high humidity. The water was freezing to get into but extremely refeshing once in. The falls themselves are a natural spa. Highly recommend you go early to beat the traffic and enjoy the serenity.
