“River Front”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Not the most luxury place, but a great location and decent for the price. Note it does have overfill to other buildings so e-mail in advance make sure that you get rooms in the main building on the riverside. Rooms were a little small. No TV which was nice as you spend your time out and about in the town and markets. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this place.

Room Tip: Choose the Riverside main building.

A good basic hotel in a lovely setting. Decorated in a traditional manner with comfortable furnishings and common seating areas in the main reception area. Our room had a terrace overlooking the river which we used often. Outside furniture did smell like armpits which was not too pleasant. Enjoyed the shutters on the doors and windows allowing total darkness in the room. A fridge would have been helpful to cool drinks and protect the cakes we bought at the night market from the ants which invaded them. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast served across the road by the riverside was fine with more than enough to eat.

Room Tip: Get a riverside room

Room was OK and location opposite the river is great but when it very hot and you have no cold water or drinks and no TV it becomes a bit pathetic when you realise that it is not a cheap hotel and Im sure better value exists in Luang Prabang.
Staff do there best to help with little English and no manager to be seen.

Room Tip: Not facing the road, other guests left early due to noise from the road , request a back room.

Comfortable room but did not have a TV or fridge. Very small and compact. Had wooden shutter doors which couldn't be locked at night for personal safety. Comforable bed, good shower. Very small narrow balcony could only comfortably seat one person. Very expensive for lack of amenities. Breakfast is across the road in an open air environment. Need to get there very early to sample all offerings. Once they are eaten it is not replaced. Staff was not as friendly as what we had found. Luang Prabang lovely place to visit. Clean good markets really relaxing. stayed for four nights. Would not stay in this venue again without basic amenities.

Room Tip: Balcony room - riverside double - if you want tv and a fridge stay at one of the other Sala Prabang...

Calm and very peaceful hotel, simply, but tastefully decorated and equipped with all needed facilities. The building is rather unobtrusive, what makes Luang Prabang even more enjoyable. Spacious and clean rooms with aircondition, bathroom with hairdryer. Quite strange stair case. Computer with wifi in the lobby available. Very good location - only few steps from the night market, main shopping road and restaurants. Close to the Mekong river, by which there is a breafaste served. Really pleasant and totally relaxing! Staff rather hardly speak english, but is very friendly and helpful.

Be aware this hotel is spread over a couple of properties. I ended up in the property that is opposite a wat, not the river, but this was perfectly ok unless you are set on a riverview. Room was good size, clean, good bathroom. Bed was hard but they all are in Laos - part of the adventure. Lovely brekkie spot a very short stroll away by the river. Hotel has a great location, a lovely stroll to night markets and other spots of interest around LP. Can be slightly noisy due to very thin walls at night - could be an issue if you are a light sleeper but didn't really worry me. I didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel - too busy getting my fill of the lovely LP - but as a place to rest your head this ticked the boxes.

Room Tip: Be aware this hotel is over a few properties - if you want a riverview room make sure you say so on...

we had rooms on the button floor and the noise from rooms above was horrible , so if you ever plan to stay here take rooms on the upper floor.

breakfast was so small so its not worth mentioning at all ,,,,

cleaning was absolutely perfect and the staffs friendlyness amazing aswell.

could be so good with a decent breakfast and no noise from rooms above .....

overall i recomend but again get a room on upper floors.

Room Tip: upper floor is a must
