“average but friendly ,,,and very noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

we had rooms on the button floor and the noise from rooms above was horrible , so if you ever plan to stay here take rooms on the upper floor.

breakfast was so small so its not worth mentioning at all ,,,,

cleaning was absolutely perfect and the staffs friendlyness amazing aswell.

could be so good with a decent breakfast and no noise from rooms above .....

overall i recomend but again get a room on upper floors.

Room Tip: upper floor is a must

This was our second visit to Luang Prabang so we chose this hotel primarily for its location and its sense of heritage - and were not disappointed with either. We did, however, e-mail in advance make sure that we had rooms in the main building on the riverside. We were slightly disappointed that from the ground floor terrace of our "riverside rooms" we didn't actually have a view of the river, but we did have a nice area to sit out and have a drink.

The room was a good size. with a good hot shower ensuite, comfy beds and a kettle with tea and coffee :o)

The street can be a little bit noisy with motos and tuk tuks quite early in the morning and the rooms have air vents to the outside which also let some noise in - I would recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

The location was excellent and within walking distance of everything, including the public ferry across the Mekong which was great fun - although we walked for an hour on the other side we never found the fabled pottery and craft village that was supposed to be a 20 minute walk away! On the way back we just missed the ferry and to our surprise and delight the driver turned the ferry round and came back for us!

Breakfast was adequate and is served in a lovely, cool, open air setting overlooking the river. And a few metres away there is an excellent open air restaurant overlooking the river too - Restaurant Luang Prabang I think!

Not all the staff on reception speak English so be prepared to be patient!

Overall, for the price I would recommend it, but remember this is Northern Laos so don't expect high luxury and 5-star service!

This hotel has a great location next to the Mekong River. It's basic but is very clean and has free WiFi. Staff are very friendly & helpful. We had a room with a little verandah where we could sit after dinner with a cup of tea and review the day's events. A pleasant stay here.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are more quiet than the ones in the front.

If you want a value stay in LP, try this. There are no frills and little space if you want to spend 1/2 a day in the hotel but it has all you need. It is clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is across the road along the Mekong. It is simple but adequate and the BBQ toast is great! Location is great for all in the town, market, bars and eating places.
Street rooms at least have a small balcony where you sit and watch the world go by in sleepy but great Luang Prabang.

Room Tip: Try and get a room above street level at the front i.e. street side
