“Beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

Rooms are spacious, modern and well decorated. Location is great, only 10 minute walk/2 minute tuk tuk to town centre (alms giving, night market, bars etc). Restaurant very good and well priced. Highly recommended.

So glad i was able to get a booking at Le Sen. This gem of a hotel lived up to all of my family's expectations. From reading all the great comments about Le Sen, i knew it had to be the place to celebrate my sister's 50th bday while traveling Indochina.
The owner Pou went out of his way to make this celebration and our stay so wonderful. The entire hotel staff were so friendly and service was impeccable.
The ambience of Le Sen is a little oasis with beautiful decor. The rooms were authentically Laos with modern bathrooms. The food at the hotel (we had breakfast & dinner) was all delicous.
Cant say enough about what an amazing place this is and what a memorable trip we had.
Thank You Pou and to your staff for going above and beyond; not only for my family but to all your guests.

Our stay at Le Sen Boutique is only one night. I and my friends (groups of 6) enjoyed the stay so much. The service is wonderful. The rooms we booked were 3 types:1 villa, 1 suite and 1 deluxe. Each rooms are modern, clean and unique. We faced some problem during our stay but the hotel takes care us well. My friend's villa room heard some noise late night. The GM (owner) there offered us another room to change on that night as my friend felt worried about the noise. Upon check out, the hotel charged us the villa room only deluxe room price. We enjoyed the breakfast of Pho noodle. The soup is tasty. Besides that another good thing is that hotel provided free shuttle van service. Also Thanks Khun Noi for sending us to the town center and recommend us the nice dining place.

Room Tip: Try the suite room. It is an indoor bath with open area to the room. I choice this room type because...

Our weekend getaway stay at Le Sen Boutique hotel was "dee lai," or exceptionally good, due to the cleanliness of the room and property, aesthetics of the room and overall environment, friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, quality of the food, and decent price.

My husband and I had a friend visiting Laos from the States and we wanted to show him where we live here, as well as Luang Prabang. Le Sen was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in Luang Prabang because it is not in the heart of the tourist attraction area so it allows for a quiet sleep away from the hum of motorbikes and other noises of the bustling World Heritage designated city. We stayed one night in a room with twin beds as it was all the hotel had available when we booked, and the other night we stayed in the villa suite. While both rooms were clean and aesthetically pleasing with high ceilings, tall windows, lots of light, and warm colors, we especially liked the villa suite due to the outdoor rain shower and hot tub, as well as the privacy. The beds were very comfortable, sheets were pressed and extremely clean, and beds were made each day. Staff also came to close our shades in the evening when we stayed in the suite.

Breakfast was included with our room and was a delightful array of made to order eggs, pancakes, fresh bread, fruits, homemade, local yogurt, cheeses, meats, etc. There were different side dishes to accompany the standard main breakfast courses each day; one day little tarts and the second day potato au gratin. These were additional gourmet touches that added variety and flavor to regular breakfast classics.

The service was exceptional. Staff was very attentive upon arrival by greeting us warmly, having us sit and giving us a welcome drink, bringing our bags to our room, serving us coffee/tea each morning exactly when we arrived in the dining area, restocking our minibar upon request, and moving our bags between rooms when we switched rooms/storing our bags for us after check-out so we could continue to sight see. Their friendliness and hard work made the stay very pleasant and created a nice atmosphere to stay in, overall. Having stayed in Laos for several months, the staff at Le Sen represent what we love about Lao hospitality-kind smiles, interest, and genuinely nice people.

The price was generally decent for the shuttle to and from the central part of town, quality breakfast included, and other details (rain shower, plush bedding, and additional amenities) included. It was a splurge compared to other local guesthouses and in comparison with other places we have stayed regionally, but definitely worth it for the pleasant atmosphere, aesthetics of the property, and attention to detail on the part of staff.

I would recommend this place to couples looking for a romantic escape or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in beautiful Luang Prabang. Le Sen won us over compared to the other places we have stayed so far in our months in the SE Asia region. Khop jai deh, Le Sen, for the wonderful Valentine's Day weekend and relaxing getaway!!

Room Tip: If you'd like couples or family privacy, the villa suite is in it's own corner of the proper...

Le Sen hotel helped make Luang Prabang our favorite stop in out tour of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. It is a new, beautifully designed hotel.....modern and minimalist in many ways but still warm and welcoming and provides a very pleasant serene place after a day of sightseeing....truely a very special place! The staff could not be nicer......always ready to help with a gracious smile. And a special thank you to Mr. Pho,( general manager) for responding to every question and every request. Your recommendation to take a boat ride to see the sunset ended our visit on such a high note...it was magical! Being away from the center of town becomes a plus when shuttle service is available several times a day and is quite flexible. A spa was supposed to pick us up for a spa treatment but did not come so a member of the staff got
into one of their vans and got us there in time. Breakfast was a pleasure every morning.....excellent and varied buffet with something different and special each morning. They also served lunch and dinner which we enjoyed....they obviously have a good chef. We were
there for five days and would have stayed much longer if we had had a choice.

Room Tip: The suite ,where we stayed, is worth every penny and more!

We absolutely loved this hotel! My husband and I stayed here on a portion of our honeymoon. The hotel has incredible ambiance With very modern rooms. We loved the fact that it was a boutique hotel as it has a more intimate feeling than a large complex. The highlits of the hotel for us was ambiance and service. The staff here really take care of you. They were always accomodating. There were two situations when we had special requests and the hotel made it happen each time. Upon arrival I was still pretty jet lagged and ended up falling asleep. By the time I woke up the town was shutting down along with all of the Restaurants. When I woke up I called own for room service and even though the kitchen had closed they still brought us up burgers and fries. They also allowed or a late checkout so that we could shower and keep our things in the safe as we were scheduled to leave around 2:00pm. It's small things like this that sets a hotel apart and that can be hugewhen travelling for three weeks.

Breakfast was excellent as well as the dinner at the hotel. Do try the Pho for breakfast! Although we mostly ate lunch and dinner in the town.

The hotel is a little way out from the centre, about a 10-15 min walk. The hotel also offers a free shuttle that runs every 30 min. When we saw the other hotel locations we were happy that we were a little out of the action as it was not as noisy. Being a little out of the centre never prevented us from doing or seeing anything. We often walked back at night and felt perfectly safe if we stayed later than the shuttle. There are many tuk tuks if you didnt feel comfortable and they would only be about 4 dollars if I remember correctly.

Room Tip: Stay on the second floor. The rooms on the main floor open up to the main pool area -as do all of th...
