“Loved this”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

This was just the right size for me, someone who often lacks attention in museums. We had a private guide who did a great job combining the exhibits with info on the history of Laos. I loved the glass mosaic room in particular!

“Well presented and laid out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Very well presented, good descriptions, not too crowded, well worth a visit. All bags and cameras are left in locker sand of course no shoes to be worn

“NICE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a nice museum. Too bad you can't take picures inside. They provide lockers for you to put your camera and shoes in (no shoes in the museum!). Many nice things to see, and you can buy jewellery in the gift shop (I went bananas in there, hehe). I would definitely pay it a visit again if/when i go back to Luang Prabang.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

Well if you come to luang prabang, this place is mandatory since the PRA Bang is situated here in the building next to the palace.

It was amazing seeing the king's reception hall and the history of the royal family whom for generations livedhere. The museum ddisplayed dress of the kings/queens, swords, rooms, bronze drums, and beautiful Japanese glasses in the hall. It won't take too long to go around.

Long pants and long sleeves shirt are required or else they have it for you to wear before entering the palace.

Don't trap for the photographers and fake jade lady!

“Nice grounds but skippable if time is tight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We visited the Royal Palace Museum in July 2013. It had some interesting pieces, including a Laos flag carried to the moon on an Apollo mission and some old cars out back in the garage area (toilets here as well). However, if time is tight this is skippable.
