“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We spent 5 nights at Lao Lu Lodge. Our room was 204. A triple, perfect for friends sharing. Clean, roomy, comfortable and very quiet. Very good value.
The location is fantastic, close to markets and river. The staff were warm and friendly especially Khao always happy and willing to help.

Room Tip: Room 204 is situated on it's own so quieter.

We spent five nights at the Lao Lu Lodge and enjoyed every minute of our stay. On arrival, Khao, one of the staff, gave us a warm greeting and a personal escort/orientation to our room. The room (201) was really lovely! Emaculant and immediately inviting. Lots of windows, fan, air conditioning, comfortable king bed and a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. The location is quiet but as explained by others, central to the markets and the rivers. Khao continued to be our ally and was extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. The ladies did a great job with breakfast and the laundry.

Room Tip: 201 is an up stairs corner room so we had lots of windows. I took a peak and all the rooms seem ver...

fantastic location - down quiet side street - yet only 1min walk to morning market, night market, mekong river, old palace and route taken by the monks for morning alms. rooms are a good size, have private balcony with table an chairs, no fridge or tv but comfortable beds, air con and fans. breakfast is limited to eggs and bread but very tasty.

Room Tip: all rooms have insect screens - is nice to have open windows in the evening rather than air con

There's a wonderful little morning market just steps away from Lau Lu, and only another few minutes on foot to the fabulous night market. If you go the other way, the banks of the Mekong are less than 100 meters. In other words, the location is great. The rooms have nice windows, a good fan, air con, are comfortable and roomy, and cleaned every 3rd day. The walls are a bit thin so you hope the lovers in the adjoining suite understand that before they start doing the cha cha. Breakfast is simple; eggs, baguette, piece of fruit, instant coffee or tea. This place is nice, and priced in Sept. 2013 at 200,000 per night. Fair enough.

Room Tip: Upper level will provide better privacy.

We had a lovely 4 nights here in room 201. This is the upstairs room on the end so had windows 2 sides. The room was large, clean and attractive. Nice setting on side rd amongst trees. Arranged airport pick up for us. Breakfast was instant coffee/tea, with a fresh baguette, jam and eggs scrambled/fried/omelette, which was fine. Great location a stones throw from night market and morning market, a 10 min walk to see the monks give alms, and very close to bars and restaurants. The staff were particularly attentive, keen to practice their English with us, and offer tourist information.

Superfriendly staff, especially always smiling and joking Khaow (spelling?), good location, quiet, nice room, decent breakfast and free coffee and bananas. Good value for money. Only minus poor wifi and no views if that is what you are looking for where you stay.

Stayed here a few nights...in a confortable room (hard bed as usual in Laos), quiet room in little alley...reception tiny, powder coffee (as mostly in Laos), laundry service fine...good location, liked my stay overall.
