The bungalows at this resort are absolutely beautiful, with big terraces and wonderful interior decoration. With the discount offered off-season and on Agoda, this hotel is a very good bargain, enabling you to "splurge" and relax after more heavy-duty travelling. The pool is small but refreshing in sometimes stuffy Luang Prabang. The free bicycles are great, as it is the best way to move in Luang Prabang. The hotel is accros the river from the historical center: by bike, it's just 5 minutes to cross the bridge and be everywhere. There is, however, a fantastic restaurant a short walk from the hotel:Dyen Sabai, which has the advantage to be open later than many places in Luang Prabang, and has a wonderful outdoor setting.
On the negative side: the wifi didn't work in the rooms but also worked very badly in the reception/restaurant area, if you have urgent work to do during your stay, this place isn't ideal. At breakfeast, only western dishes are proposed (eggs, ham, cheese, bread), which is a shame. The hotel should definitively propose noodle soup/fried rice/ fried noodles etc. at their breakfeast buffet for those travellers who when travelling in Asia indeed want to eat asian-style breakfast.
Asking for a glass of wine at 9PM I was told the "kitchen is closed"! It is a general problem in Laos that restaurants close so early, creating a real problem for europeans that are used to dine around 9:30-10PM. But, of course, you don't need a kitchen to pour a glass of wine ! Obviously, frinks should be available until 11PM-midnight, and food until 10PM (the menu has a very small selection, thus I never ate here).
So, in a nutshell: wonderful setting, comfort and style, service that still needs improvement...

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a thorough and balanced review - especially, hearing where we need to improve is very, very important to us.
You'll be pleased know that we have added Lao food items to our breakfast buffet, and we're sure you won't be surprised to hear that they are very popular indeed. We're still working on expanding our menu - some of this has to wait until we can purchase additional kichen equipment. Being only (at time of writing, in June ) 8 months old, we are still dealing with the construction bills!
And before we forget, our deepest apologies for being so long in responding. But I was away almost all of May, and when I returned in June, I was simply snowed under! I'm sure you'll understand that the guests and the hotel simply had to come first, before I could take time to write in TripAdvisor. I'm slowly but surely catching up...
As for WiFi/Internet, as discussed in another Response, yes, this can sometimes be a problem. Lao infrastructure - roads, internet, hospitals, schools, etc. - has a long way to go. So while there are many times when the WiFi/Internet works perfectly, there are times when it doesn't. Sometimes all it takes is telling the Front Desk that you cannot get access in your room, and we can re-set the router for your building, and the problem is solved. But sometimes it's a Lao Telecom problem. If it's any consolation, if our guests are having WiFi/Internet problems then 99% of the time we in the office are too. Which means we can't access and manage our bookings. So we are highly motivated to maintain the WiFi/Internet at the highest level possible!
Finally, while we have extended our service hours until 9:30 p.m., we feel that is the latest we can go. There are three rooms above the restaurant pavilion, and we have to make sure that the pavilion is quite, at night. We hope all our guests understand.
In closing - "Stylish and Relaxing" is a lovely title for your review, and we sincerely appreciate it. Merci beaucoup, 'belsha', and we hope you will copme and see us gain sometime!
With Best Regards,
