first off we did not see "hundreds" of safron robed monks. maybe 30 monks at best. from what was to be a religious ceremony, turned out to be a some tourists taking pictures of the monks at
point blank range. i was so infuriated that some people have no better manners than they do.
all they showed was a complete lack of respect for the monks and everyone else that attended.
after the alms ceremony we went down to the morning market place. we love to go to markets and this one was wonderful. we saw things for sale that we have never seen before. then again it was our first time in laos. we really loved luang prabang. if you need your laundry done while you are in town you have many choices. what we would have paid $60 for thru the hotel we had done on the streets for $3.50. we took it in one night and picked it up the next afternoon. the laundry was folded and beautifully clean.
