“Kidirara was an Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We arrived in the morning and without asking Francis, the manager upgraded us without charge from a regular room to a suite. The hotel is first class and has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. They are very detailed oriented in the design of the place and it has a splendid view from the dining deck.

It's all about the views here at Kiridara. This is a lovely property on a hill just past the town which is in walking distance and very safe. The rooms are spacious and very nice. From the infinity pool you look out over the beautiful mountains and up at a lovely temple. I highly recommend the organic rice farm tour about 30-45 mins away from Luang Prabang. The staff is helpful with organizing tours. They are working on service - fast isnot a priority in Laos which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Spa is a incredible value!!

Room Tip: All rooms face the pool area with great views

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel last month for 4 nights. The rooms were well appointed and each had a patio or balcony. The staff was very accommodating as well. It is about a 15-20 walk from downtown Luang Prabang BUT they had a free shuttle that will take you down and back at any time! The pool was wonderful and food very good. I had a massage in their spa which was THE BEST and cheap!! We would certainly stay there again if we were to go back to Luang Prabang! BTW, the town is a MUST place to visit with lots of temples, great shopping and lots of good restaurants but skip the elephant camp....

We stayed here for four days from April 20th and we knew we were going to love it from the moment we pulled in to the driveway. We were collected from the airport by the hotel car ( vital as there were no taxis or tuk tuks outside the airport on this last flight in to Luang Prabang for the day and I'm not sure how everyone else made it in to town). Our family room was gorgeous. Two very large queen size beds, separate wardrobe room, separate toilet, separate shower room and an amazing bath. It was more like an apartment than a hotel room. Everything was immaculately clean.
We had the buffet dinner at the hotel on the first night. Really good with lovely service from the staff. The chef came to greet us and when it started to rain the buffet was quickly moved from the terrace to the inside dining room.
We breakfasted here every day and enjoyed every thing about it: the view off the terrace as the school children walked to school, the occasional monk and, of course, the delicious food. You can chose from cooked breakfast, pastries, croissants, pancakes, fresh fruit, French toast, cereals, cold meats, freshly squeezed juices, tea ( twinings in a lovely tea pot) or coffee. Over four days we tried everything and it was all excellent.
We spent mornings and late afternoons at the pool as it was too hot to sight see. The service was impeccable. We had lunch by the pool twice and the food was excellent ( burgers, spaghetti for the children, fried rice, spring rolls). The happy hour cocktails were perfect as was watching the sun set of the terrace.
Finally, I have to recommend the spa. It was amazing! You have to have a traditional Lao massage whilst you are here....the best I have ever had. The massages were much more expensive ( but very cheap by Australian standards) than in town but there is really no comparison with the experience. I tried a highly recommended place in town but it wasn't even close to this. Private yoga lessons are also offered at a fraction of cost we would pay in Sydney.
All in all you can't go wrong with this place. It is a two minute drive from town. The tuk tuk was always available for us when we wanted to go, and we were picked up on time In town every time we requested it. We loved it here and will certainly go back next year. We can't wait! Thank you to all the staff here. You made out stay at Kiridara wonderful.

I visited this hotel with my 2 children, ages 6 and 9 and we simply loved it!
Beautiful, unique rooms, stunning pool, great food and pateo overlooking pool and impeccable service. The Shuttle bus ride to and from the town was great and the driver even waited for us for a few minutes as we could run in and grab something from the night market (after dinner).

Also, I left my favorite dress at this hotel....Not only did they find it, but, they kept it safe and quickly and safely returned it to me.

Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lot of light. They changed our initial room (which was great), but, we enjoye...

I have just stayed at Kiridara for 5 days and would love to have stayed longer. The attention to detail is great. The welcoming and helpful staff. The manager who is around to chat and help if needed. Room was wondrful. Pool relaxing. Food very nice. With a nightly shuttle service to the night markets and return or bicycles if you wish to ride. Happily recommend this place to my friends. Tucked Away from the hustle of the backpacker guest houses is great location. The spa experience which included a body scrub and massage very relaxing. Well done

My wife and I booked at Kiridara with some expectation when we went to Luang Prabang. The infinity pool and hillside location seemed too good to refuse.
Upon arrival we knew this would be 3 days to remember.
We were looked after impeccably. The staff are so friendly and with great english speaking skills. We arrived at 1030 am the day of our first stay and ended up leaving at 230pm the day of our final stay, so we effectively stayed for 3 almost full days.
We spent most of our time on the lounges by the pool or in the pool It is one of the most beautiful pools I have ever swam in- the location, relaxed feel and surrounded by natural beauty.
My wife and I ate and drank to our heart's content and at the end of our stay our food bill was a measly $120- the same cost as one good meal with wine back home.
Do yourself a favour and stay at Kiridara- but only if you want total relaxation.
