“Perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

I stayed in the resort for a week and it was a wonderful oasis to return to after a day of exploring. Great staff, pool was a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon or evening, shuttle and loaner bikes made getting around easy. Can't stay enough about this hotel or Luang Prabang.

Although situated just outside the town, this really is a nice place to stay. The staff were very nice and helpful, the bungalow style accommodation although on the small side, where very nice and comfortable with good size bathrooms. Resturant not the best, but with loads of great places to eat in town this wasnt a problem. Fantastic, clean pool, great gardens, beautiful setting. Would stay here again.

The place is really lovely, beautiful garden, great pool, nice roomy cottages. The breakfast is not exciting, but gives a good basis for the day, dinner was OK but not extraordinary. For the space you have available in the garden and in the cottages you pay by being a little out of town, situated beautifully above the Kham river. It takes a 30.000 kip TukTuk ride or 15 minutes by bicycle to get to the town center, but 4x a day they provide free shuttle.
Funny enough, we only realized after 3 days that the hotel is diretly underneath the flight path of planes landing at LPQ airport - not a problem at all because there are so few planes arriving. The cottages are furnished at 3-star standard, not really new.
But everything is faded when you sit on your little porch, overlooking the garden, or enjoy the pool, after a hot day in town.

Room Tip: We took the executive room and that was fine. However, be sure that you get the right rates when you...

The pool was fantastic and very welcome in the sweltering afternoons. The accommodation was OK. Staff were friendly but disorganised. Breakfast was very modest. Location was awkward though some free taxi services were provided. Lovely garden. On one of the nights we were the only guests - not sure if that was the reason for lack of management or the result.

Resort was quite nice, with a good pool and the rooms and bathroom were good.

The restaurant was also quite nice, with a good range of food and a nice free breakfast menu

The only real negative about the stay was it seemed to be a little overpriced compared to other accommodation in the area - we didn't have a choice due to booking late.

We found that the charges for all incidental expenses (mini bar, laundry (charged per item to be washed!) maps and tuk tuk were quite expensive. When paying $85 a night you would hope that some of these things may be included in the price.

An example was that a tuk tuk into town was 30,000, however when we went to book a tuk tuk at the same time as another couple, instead of allowing the 4 of us to share in the 30,000 the bumped the price up to 50,000.

Overall it was a nice place to stay, but the constant feel that the staff wanted to make an extra dollar out of you wherever they could bumped the rating down a notch

I spent 10 days here recently and it really is a Paradise. The staff cannot do enough for you from the owners to the maids, everyone is helpful and bend over backwards to be helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend the Paradise Resort highly enough. I will definately return.

Thanks for a great stay at Paradise, The pool and garden is a great place to relax, The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff willing to help - They do offer a free shuttle bus into town 3 times a day, the timetable for the bus could be a little better but otherwise fantasic - Thanks
