This was our favorite guesthouse of our 3 weeks in Southeast Asia. This lovely guesthouse is ideally situated on peninsula 1/2 block from the base of Mt. Phousi and the night market on one end of the street and 1/2 a block from the Mekong river on the other. We stayed in a family room with 3 very comfortable beds, and plenty of room for the equally comfortable mattress they added on the floor to accommodate all 4 of us. As an added plus, the bathroom had a both a shower and a tub. The rooms were beautiful with lovely tropical hardwood floors and trim, high ceilings and good air conditioning. Our room price was only $35 a night and for an additional $5.00 they added breakfast for the four of us. While the Western breakfasts weren't great, when we discovered the Asian breakfast options on the other side of the menu the next day, we were very happy. The flavor was great and the size was ample. Their dinner options were great too although the service was definitely on Lao time. As another example of the value of this establishment - Beer Lao was only 8000 kip at the hotel; whereas, the going rate at the bars and restaurants in town was 10,000 kip. The staff at the hotel are helpful without being in your face. However, be sure to put the make up your room sign on your door or you may not get maid service that day.
