“food is tasty and inexpensive. though some menu items weren't available. nice family-owned joint.”
My wife and I ate here a handful of times, as well as the branch in Phonsavan. We ordered a variety of items including vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and they were all very good. We talked with the owner a couple of times, and he seemed to be a nice enough guy, though he told us that his son (the big guy) who manages when he's not there is on the lazy side. This made sense to us because two of the times that we ate there the son was in charge, and both of those times many of the menu items were not available. But the other family members seemed to be hard-working and friendly.
Over-all our experiences were very positive. This place is a nice break from street food if you're traveling on a budget and don't care about the needless extravegances that the more uptight species of traveler seeks. Their walls could benefit from a fresh coat of paint, though.
