“Excellent food warm welcome.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

Unexpected treat discovered by accident. Welcomed warmly and ate excellent Lao and French food. Surprising wine list detailing a number of Bordeaux vintages. Recommended.

“Tasteless and slow service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012 via mobile

It took ages before they served us our meal, several other customers had already gone to another nearby restaurant.
The mediocre food, a salad, chicken laap and beef laap, was tasteless. We tried to spice things up with some extra coriander and lemon that we ordered, but to no avail. We did not finish our meals and hurried to the nearby Ban Vat Sene where we had a lovely beef Pho.

“Good food but the service has a way to go”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2011

I have eaten here several times for lunch over the last few years and always found the food to be very good quality.

At dinner on Christmas eve the three of us arrived early at about 6.45pm and the service was great. However as more people arrived it got very slow. We had to wave to get the desert menu and wave again to place our order. I gave up on asking for the bill and went straight to the cashier.

One of us received his soup & main course at the same time while a spaghetti dish main course took forever to arrive.

Prices were above average but the setting & outlook on to the street or courtyard were a real plus.

They accept Visa & MasterCard but charge in US dollars + a 3% credit card fee which is very high. The best restraurant in Luang Prabang, Blue Lagoon, does not charge a credit card fee at all.
