“Find another place to stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

We spent three nights in a "superior room" with windows that were boarded up and poor internet connection. They have about 5 routers in the facility but none would give reliable connection. When I asked for help at the front desk, they said I could use a computer in the reception area. I said that I wanted to use mine in my room, told them what the troubleshooting said was the problem and asked for help. The clerk made a phone call. After standing in front of him for a few minutes while he was talking on the phone, another clerk asked if she could help. When I told her that the clerk on the phone was calling about the internet problem, she said, "oh no, he is talking to his family".
The breakfast was the worst we had in our 3 weeks in SE Asia and the coffee was absolutely terrible. Some went out to a coffee shop to get something drinkable. The air conditioning worked and the location is not bad.
We were expecting something better from a hotel with a "certificate of excellence in 2013"

Room Tip: Ask if any have reliable internet and windows that admit light

Clean, well kept and large standard rooms. The best part of this hotel is its location just off the main street a couple of blocks from the town center including the night market. 25 M from Joba bakery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. It has its own spa services and buffet breakfast if you book it.

Room Tip: Mid locations might be a bit quieter in the morning than E or F building but you probably want to ge...

New Daraphet Villa was a great location for our group of 15 people. Though the rooms are small, they have everything you need. Comfy Bed and hot showers! We were in the B wing and everyone loved it. Handy Location - top of the street to view the monks collecting morning alms and just a short stroll down to the centre of town. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast soup - YUM!! Would stay here again!

Good beds and pillows, rooms were clean and comfortable. The furnishings were nice. The manager was friendly and spoke English well, but the rest of the staff had very basic English. The first day breakfast was ok, with a buffet, but the second day they only offered ala cart, and it was quite meager, Neither day had juice or butter for the bread, both days the coffee was weak. On the one side there is backpacker guest house next door and it was noisy until 11:30, after that there were some amorous cats, or at least I hope it was cats...
There are better values in Luang Prabang, but this is a nice place.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the other guest house

In the perfect location, amongst a noise deadening group of bamboo plants and trees we had the nicest room, close to bike rental (next door) and washing facilities AND all the attractions in the city. Right at the end of the Main Street where the night market is held and where the monks are 'fed' in the morning. Really friendly and helpful reception. Great hotel!

5mins walk to tourist sites, 2mins walk to night market. 5 mins walk to the row of restaurants and cafes, 3 mins walk to restaurants along Mekong River. Rustic charm with modern ensuite which includes bath-tub, jet-spray shower, LED TV (3 channels incl HBO but translated voice over in local language). Breakfast spread incl egg station, porridge, soup noodles, fried rice-noodles, fruits, orange cordial. Service was prompt - phone call to reception brought the staff to our door within 2 mins.

We originally booked for 2 nights but extended for another night as the homely environment and friendly staff made a difference though there are similar hotels at cheaper rates available in the vicinity. It is close to the night market and main attractions in town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building that provides better homely environment!
