“History, Art and Craft”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

If you are a history, art and craft lover, you should visit the place. You can use your cameras. But cell phones are not allowed to carry in. So be sure you have a standalone video camera or camera. It’s a nice cool and calm place. It’s in the heart of city on The Mall road.
You can learn the Subcontinent and Pakistan history. Its open on Sunday. I am not sure but Tuseday is off day.

“History History”

A unique place in Lahore. Nothing much from pre History though... The place is amazingly imbued with history! It is a must see place.

“Not worth the trip.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

If you ever have the misfortune of being in Lahore, Skip this museum unless you're in the neighbourhood. Not a lot to see. They have the usual collection of unidentified misshapen rocks and pottery shards, and dozens of 20th century fragments of Bodisatva statues. One floor is dedicated to the historical newspaper clippings of who knows who. Not much in English to explain anything. A large display had nothing but what appeared to be clippings from cereal packets. Much of this once grand building was temporarily closed, but you couldn't really tell as there was not much too see anyhow.

Upon entering the grounds, you first have to run a gauntlet of restaurant pimps which doesn't help the cultural experience.

It's not unusual to charge extra for photos, but even if you don't want to take any snapshots, you have to pay extra to leave your camera and cell phone at the ticket booth(!) It's not like there is enough light in here to take pictures anyhow. About the only thing of interest was a good collection of microminiature paintings, if you're into that. All in all, I would give this dust hole a pass unless you happen to be in the neighbourhood.

“Lots of interesting exhibits in a grand building.”

Lots of Ghandaharan sculptures and artifacts that I liked. Good breadth and plenty to see. Cheap too and not too hot inside.
