The last time I visited this place I abhorred it. Fortunately, they have started a lunchtime buffet service which I had been hearing about so decided to visit with the missus.
They charge 650 + tax for a soup, starter, salad and a range of hot entrees from the buffet bar followed by ice cream.
On the whole, Id say the food quality has definitely improved after my last visit when they served me raw soup. The chicken and fish dishes weren't bad but were all too common.
I yearn for morning glory and a raw papaya salad to satisfy my gastronomical craving but then again, you cant always get what you want.
Still, the food was worth gorging on (had three helpings) and the desert wasn't too bad but not necessarily Thai in nature.
Unfortunately, this place still hasn't sorted out their strange practices of serving the tiniest bottle of water for customers. Today I was so thirsty I could have drunk a gallon, but they torture you by just bringing a silly old 300 ml bottle and insist that you keep asking for more. If this behaviour doesn't appeal to you, then by all means choose a dining venue where they will not try and fleece you as they do at Opium.
Maybe that's why there were only three covers for the entire time I was there. If this place doesnt pick up soon, it will probably shut down.
So, in a nutshell...Food is Good. Water Policy is Baaaaaad. But the latter makes all the difference.
