“Not much to see here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

It's hard to get in. Very far if you want to walk, since there is only one entrance. The other ones are Top Secret since it is surrounded by military camps.
Once you're in there's not much too see.

“The Only Reason Why You Pay for the Ticket”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Of all the Mandalay city sites covered by the Mandalay ticket, this is the only site worth paying to visit. The rest do not have ticket checkpoints. Having said so, the wooden carvings in the Monastery is simply beautiful. Do take time to relish the carvings...

Keep the ticket for the outer Mandalay sites. I was told you can use it for 5 days. Indeed, when I went to visit the other temples outside Mandalay, I could use the ticket again. Saved me from paying twice!

“unique and ancient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

The carvings were just simply beautiful. There are so many carvings to see to revel about the past. It's definitely worth seeing if you are into history and architecture or just like looking at beautiful buildings.

“Very beautiful wooden temple.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

The whole temple is full with wooden panels with carvings and is very old.

It's the last piece of the original wooden palace left (it was moved).

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

This monastery is in the palace grounds in the middle of the city, surrounded by a moat. The building is old and it looks like it too. Once covered by gold but there is hardly any gold left. Still the building is definitely worth a visit with all the wood carvings and the atmosphere.
