My girlfriend and I decided that we wanted a cheap week away for a holiday to just be lazy. We flew from Norwich and got into Tunisia quite late due to our flight being delayed. Despite getting in at 2am the reception staff were very nice, polite, and helpful. Another review mentions that you got a restaurant card but that this was never explained to them. We had this explained, they talked through all the meal times and what you can eat and where. It was a good welcome despite the time of the morning and to be honest we just went straight to bed.
The room was fairly basic but clean. The bed was really comfortable and even though (on first impressions) the shower looks rubbish, it was so easy to get a perfect temperature of water. We had a road side bedroom and to be honest it wasn't bad. There wasn't a great deal of noise and we sat on the balcony a few evenings but obviously it would be so much nicer if you were on the pool side. My biggest complaint about the room is the air conditioning wasn't operating and they would not turn it on despite being asked by so many people on so many occasions. It was really difficult to sleep on one night because it was just so hot. (plus I was burnt which wasn't a good combination) At reception they told me that they don't turn the air con on until around the 15th June as it's not hot enough but trust me, it was hot enough!
Restaurant was good and there was always at least one dish that was a real surprise as to how nice it was. Particularly the grenadine chicken which was BRIGHT pink. Breakfast we just had fried eggs, cheese, turkey sausage, and sometimes some doughnuts. Lunch and dinner there was always plenty of choice and we never went hungry.
Bar staff were super friendly and always helpful and serve you with a smile on their faces. Tipping has never been a gripe of mine and it was good that they just had a little glass on the bar so you could chuck a few coins in every now and again.
The pool was the stand out feature for me and was awesome. I spent about 70% of my holiday laying by the pool reading or in the pool. We only went to the beach twice as I didn't think it was really that nice (plastic bags all in the sea) but the pool more than made up for it. Ali who sorted out the sunbeds was a great bloke and I was more than happy to give him half a dinar (20p) for a sunbed each morning. Gave him a bit more sometimes but he just ambled about with a smile on his face whether you gave him half a dinar or 5 dinar.
For what you pay it's a good holiday but it's not stand out. I would recommend this hotel if people genuinely just want to be lazy for a week and are not overly picky. There were quite a few people that had quite a lot of complaints but both my girlfriend and I couldn't really fault the place other than it's worth remembering that 4* in Tunisia is probably not what you expect from a 4* but it's nice enough.
