“A good hotel at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We really enjoyed our recent two week stay at Marhaba Beach hotel and overall I would say that it is a good hotel with plus points equivalent to a five star hotel and negative points more like a 3 star hotel. On a positive note the room was a refurbished room on the fourth floor with a seaview and was a pleasant room to spend time in. It was fitted out with new twin beds, a fridge and flat screen TV(athough channels were limited). The rooms were cleaned daily as well as bedding and towels being changed.
The staff are extremely obliging and friendly and whilst tips are appreciated by the staff it does not seem to be expected by most individuals.
The pool area is well maintained and the pool is very clean, although in March it was rather too cold to swim. Drinks at the pool were provided in glasses rather than plastic cups as often happens in other hotels. The food was rather limited in choice, although it was always hot and well presented.Breakfast was average at best. If you prefer to eat alone or as a family it is best to address this on your first visit to the restaurant as you will already have been allocated a table that may well be with other guests. You may have to tip the restaurant manager to be sure of getting your own table.

There is a small bar area for smokers which is very pleasant although the bar stools must be the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered. The main saloon/cabaret bar hosts the nightly shows and there is an area around the actual bar with large seats which also accommodates smokers Unfortunately these seats are rather tired and unsteady and really should be replaced. Another problem is that the pool table has been badly placed next to this area and I can only see it is a matter of time before someone ends up with a cue in their eye. It also sometimes resulted in a little boisterous banter between players which I do not think was well received by guests and staff alike. From a personal point of view we were a little disappointed that you cannot get a drink in the hotel after midnight even if you are willing to purchase it, although you can buy them prior to twelve o'clock cut off and consume them in the lobby or your room. The Maurish cafe is a pleasant area where you can try the shisha pipes or just enjoy a quiet drink. In an honest assessment of this hotel I would say that overall it is good value for money and that some of my critiscism is more to do with our personal preferences rather than this being a bad hotel. In my opinion it is the staff who give this hotel the good reputation that it has on trip advisor and that the Company should look to improve some of the tired furnishings and enhance the food choices in order to restore it to the five star level that it enjoyed many years ago.But I expect the prices would then go up.

Room Tip: When booking ask for a refurbished room on an upper floor with a seaview

Lovely break away with my bf at the hotel. Hotel is not 4* tho more like 3*.
We didn't leave the complex so can't comment on surrounding areas.
Food was ok,very 'same-y' everyday though so by day 4 we had had enough! Food ok nothing special.
Entertainment awful!!! So I recommend taking a pack of cards and playing on the card tables in the bar area.
There are guys who walk around shouting things like 'archery Ello Ello' or 'exercise Ello Ello' - I found them annoying however complex does activity bits if u r into that kind if thing.
**warning!!!** some of the pics of the pool on the website are actually pics of another hotels pool that u can use (but all inclusive doesn't count)
There is an indoor pool which was alright. Only went once there tho.
Beach nice but be careful of the people on the beach trying to sell you things. They try tricking u saying they work for the hotel because they see your all inclusive band!
Weather was nice. Got cold everyday about 4pm when the sun went behind the clouds but was about 28 throughout the day.
Hotel clean. Rooms clean. Had nice beach view.
Staff friendly (if u tip them!)

Enjoyed the holiday - prob give it 6/7 out of 10. Was nice get away for a week but couldn't of gone for longer.

Hope you enjoy ur holiday there! X

Me and my family enjoyed our time lovely weather especially the last few days nice and sunny :)
the beach is so nice and lovely little bit cold tho but is is nice :) the weather was a little bit windy but it is nice anyway much better than the weather in wales , the animation team made our holiday very nice they were very friendly especially Joher '' Joo '' and Marwan '' Timo '' .. all of them
the food was good lots of choices and nice dessert during lunch and dinner .
the staff were very friendly , helpful and smiling all the time .
i would recommend this hotel for everyone wanting to visit Sousse .
the hotel is very clean , the room was on first floor nice sea view but would be more nicer if it was on the forth floor :) i would definitely going back again but not in march better in May :)

Room Tip: higher floors have better sea view

Stayed 1 week from 17th to 24th. Very good value fo money!! Rooms nice and very clean, food good though bit repatitive as were the evening events towards the end of the week. Marhaba beach defintaley the best hotel out of the 4 Marhaba's in the Sousse Resort. Staff very friendly well worth a second visit. Only downside was the drink is definately watered down. Drinking 20 beers by pool in afernoon you should not be able to stand afterwards, same as spirits but overall a good break away. Davy from Belfast

Room Tip: Higher the better

Me and my friend have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Marhaba Beach Hotel. We could not have picked a better holiday, excellent staff especially the animation team - who were extremely welcoming.

Sad to have only stayed the week.
