“Totally dissatisfied”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We went for 14 nights and before I booked asked the adviser several times about the food as we are pure veg and was advised that if requested by the rep they will make for us. I approached the rep and he was busy and said he will get back to us but he never did, And me and kids lived on salad and chips for 14 nights.
There was not anything which we could do for entertainment as had to pay for sauna steam everything. Asked rep about a Spa and one he requested was so disappointing. the trip advised by the rep are not good as he explains. especially Sahara Explorer. total waste of money. not a good option for vegetarians. if decide to go strongly recommend vegetarians to do self-catering.

just had the best weeks holiday in a long time . As this was early in the season not much was available for entertainment . food was nice plenty of choice . Tipping was at the front of everything done for you , so be prepared with plenty of small change , ( 1denar) at a time .well kept gardens and a lovely beach, sunbeds alway available with the help of the sunbed man . All pools are filled with sea water, so expect it to be cold . Although i went solo i was not alone for long , plenty of english people to make friends with . hotel was clean , rooms were big for familes as well as couples . The only down side i have was the smoking , you can't get away from it unless you go to bed . Smokers have no respect for us non-smokers . You can find a nice spot away from them but sooner or later one will come sit close by and light up . I would advise you to go full board if possable. Over all i did enjoy my stay at this hotel and i would return.

My friend, her 11 year old grandson and I arrived at 9.15 pm having had to wait at the airport for 2 hours for our transfer to leave. We were first taken to a room on the first floor down several corridors, down several flights of steps, in what felt like an annexe. The room only had 2 beds so we complained and were taken to another room, one floor up, round some more corridors (really did think I'd need sat nav to find my way back to reception). This one did have 3 beds but the third was a put-you-up and we had definitely booked a room which was sold as a larger room for 3 with proper beds for all. We complained again and were told that we could not be moved until the next morning.
At reception it appeared that other guests were also complaining about their rooms and it seemed quite a few would be moving. Another family had been shown the room we were given and had also refused it.
We had booked an all inclusive holiday but when we asked about getting some food we were told that dinner finished at 9pm and we would have to go out to a restaurant. We finally managed to get some dry rolls and fruit when we complained once again. Not a good start to a holiday!
The next day we were moved to a room at the Marhaba Club. Though it wasn't any bigger and once again had to have a third bed added to it, it was of a better quality and by this time, we were fed up.
This hotel did not really offer an all inclusive deal as we knew it. It was more like full board with drinks thrown in. There were set times for the main meals and limited snacks were offered between 3 and 5. If you didn't get there by 3.30 it would be all gone. The choice of food was varied but not of 4 star quality.
You couldn't get bottled water in the restaurant, nor diet Coke. The juices were all a flourescent unnatural colour and very sweet as was the lemonade. Wine quality was poor to undrinkable, the only alcohol available was local martini, vodka, gin and whisky though their cocktail menu offered mainly rum based drinks so none was available.
The staff were very friendly and helpful apart from the bar staff sometimes who were a bit grumpy especially when asked for coffees.
The hotel was clean and quite well placed if you wanted to go into Sousse or Port El Kantoui.
The entertainment was limited and there was nothing geared towards the older child.
There was a varied clientele - not just the package holidaymaker so there were arrivals and departures everyday and at all times which meant quite a lot of noise in the corridors. Being a light sleeper, I didn't get a single night without being disturbed.
The towels were old, grey and getting quite bare but they were changed every day.
Not somewhere I would return to.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room with a higher number eg 158 or 265 - these are in the 'annexe' and q...

Just came back after 1 week all inclusive at the Marhaba hotel.  The grounds were pretty and the building was clean.  The staff were attentive, the waiter we had had our drinks on the table every tea time ready (after tipping) and he taught us some Arabic, the maids always cleaned our rooms well and change our towels when required.  The Animation team were hard working and great to occupy the kids but as we didn't use their services we had a relaxing holiday.  Outdoor pool was cold early morning (March) but warmed up.  We didn't use the indoor pool, gym or spa facilities.  The restraunt was constantly cleaned and the food was varied for even the fussiest eaters offering pastries, cereals, toast and fresh pancakes for breakfast; soup, chips, a variety grilled meats, pasta and pizza as well as other dishes for lunch and tea followed by ice cream and lots of different cakes.
This hotel was more 4* than 3*.  We will return

Room Tip: WiFi in reception and rooms in close proximity
