Just returned after second vist this year ! new animation team who are 100% better than the team who were there in April, a few other improvments and overall had a brilliant time, all staff so friendly and helpful, yes some of the areas need redecoration and the rooms are a bit dated as other reviews have commented but pool area and beautiful beach make up make up for this,
Food is plentyful and varied, barbeque by the pool was very good.
On another note there were plenty of people who had returned to this hotelmany times so I think this speaks for itself!!

We returned yesterday after a week staying in the hotel Marhaba Sousse...we are now looking at going back next yr for two! As everyone says the rooms are a little dated but all is clean the reception/lobby/bar area are great.Food was good plenty of choice yes maybe a bit repetitive but it was always good and amazing deserts! Pancakes and omelettes made on request for breakfast.Good snacks available at the pool-with going later in the yr the beach bar only did drinks but caused us no problems. We went as a party of 7 4adults 3 kids and all thoroughly enjoyed it.Never met such welcoming helpful staff that really want to do all they can to help you enjoy your holiday. The hotel is huge, we were a good way across the hotel up and down a mass of stairs but once you found your way round there were plenty of quicker ways to get round and out to the pool. Cannot wait to return don't be put off with negative responses..if you want perfection don't book a 3star hotel!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a family room they are a large seperated room with one external door keeping the kids safe a...

The last review written was spot on - what a great time!! We were room 4! The only advice I would give if u have a baby ask for a lower cot (this is Ava) and if u have a baby and have a pram/buggy not ideal unless u don't mind carrying between too of you ( it's not far just a little annoying)!! But on a serious note what a great animation team we couldn't thank them enough for making are stay enjoyable!! A*******

We stayed at the Marhaba 4 2wks and what a 2wks it was. We were very worried about goin after reading some of the awful reviews on here, but when we arrived there it was quite clear the people who had wrote those reviews had no idea what they were talking about. We stayed in room 3 and room 5 just behind reception as there was 8 of us trvelling, 5 adults and 3 children. the rooms were comfortable and clean, the bathroom cud be updated, but was ample enough 2 keep yourself clean(plus hot water whenever you want it). The beds were very comfy and we never had a bad night sleep. On to the restraunt, yes its 3star but cud quite easily be made a 4star and increase its prices to the same as its sister hotel The Marhaba Club. It keeps itself as a 3star but is worth so much more, i have travelled to quite a few other countries and paid a hell of a lot more 4 a far inferior hotel and 2 b made 2 feel unwelcome, unlike the Marhaba and its fantastic staff. back 2 the food tho....breakfast was from 6-10 with fresh pancakes, fresh omelettes, pastries, cereals, toast, salads, cold meats, fresh fruit, beans, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, continental sausage, grilled toms etc... pretty much all tastes catered 4.. We also liked it that you didnt have 2 go 2 the restraunt 4 lunch as it was always served at the pool bar or the beach bar, again a good variety 2 eat, bowls of different salads, bbq meat or tunisian sausage, spag bol, chips, freshly made pizzas, bbq fish etc...and as much of each as you can eat, also deserts and ice-cream readily available. Evening meals back at the restraunt were exceptional...of course your salads, something grilled in front of you every night(there was a whole tuna one night and another was a whole swordfish yumyum) different pasta dishes dun 2 your choice, pizzas, curried dishes etc... a tunisian night once a wk was lovely, candles on all tables and loads of traditional dishes. Our waiter was fab, we gave him 2dinar a day(90p) and we never once got up 2 get a drink..honestly if you show them respect and gratitude they will treat you like royalty. On 2 the grounds and staff...what can i say...the grounds are kept imaculate by a small team of gardners, who also clean the beach 2. The pool is fab 4 all ages as the furthest edge frm the bar is only 1inch deep, so is ideal 4 little ones, the slides were a good attraction 4 our group, but does drop into the deepest part of the pool, so armbands 4 little ones is a must. the beach is gorgeous, white powder sands and has lifegaurds and security. The bottom of the beach is roped off 2 stop the natives hassling you and if they stand in one place at the ropes 4 2 long the security moved them on. There r 2 lifegaurds up at the pool 2, the one is Sam who is a lovely polite 20yr old... On 2 the animation team....what can i say other than if these guys wer`nt there it wouldn`t have been the holiday we had. There is MOMO, MANO, GIGI, NINO, BOBO, FIFI, JOUJOU n MIDO...they are what makes the Marhaba a fantastic place 2 go, they were the entertainment through the day frm 9 in the morning till 12 at night. If you dont want 2 get involved in any of their games, a simple no thank you is enough, but if you do you will have the laugh of your life...i have never had so much fun on a holiday in 30yrs of traveling abroad(and not drunken fun, just a good clean laugh day in day out) they even got me up belly dancing most nights after wining something or another, and as a 40yr old who doesnt normaly do stuff like that it was quite an acculade lol...although they have very very hard lives outside of the hotel, they make you feel as if you are part of their family and treat you with the greatest respect(as long as you show it 2 them). If you go 2 the medina in Sousse take a taxi, its only 4 or 5 dinar and worth every penny, the walk is a little scary 2 say the least. dont trust anyone there, they trid 2 say they were our waiter at the hotel the night before, but as we had the same waiter 4 the whole 2wks we knew there was a con somewhere....stick 2 the main streets of the medina as sumone led us off into back alleyways then wanted money...but if you dont stray away you can have a fab experience there. All in all we had a fantastic holiday, and the day after returning i have already priced up 4 nxt yr. thanks 2 all the staff and especialy the animation team 4 a wonderful time and we will see you all next yr without fail.. thaks again Andrew 40 Lizzy 31 Doreen 56 Carla 20 Stacey 17 Chloe 11 Lauryn 7 and Jack 8 xxxxxxx

Look......if your like me, and read up on all the reviews you can about where you are going to stay, please, please DO NOT be put off with the bad ones with regard to the decor of this hotel..yes it's dated...yes a pot of paint wouldn't be bad, but what makes a home is the welcome and the people in it, and this applies to this hotel.
We have travelled to many counties, and stayed in many hotels, but never have we been welcomed more or so looked after. The staff, who are very underpaid, and worked very hard, are some of the nicest people I have met. They cant do enough for you, and yes their culture and wages depends on tips, but what is 90p ( 2 Dinars) to us, to be looked after so well?
From the cleaner to the waiters to the entertainment team, most of these people are so grateful to be working - but look so happy to be in their jobs as well. They want you to have the best holiday that you can - and we did.
Within the hotel was all the facilities that you needed, pools, bars, daytime and evening activities, BIG rooms, BIG beds, sauna, gym, indoor pool, shops, private beach...you wont be bored. Or....just lie under a palm tree with a book, and relax.
We will definitely be back next year, the only question we have is when.
