My Husband and I travelled to Couples Sousse on the 29th June for one week and really enjoyed our stay (Hello Hedi ) we were looking for a week of pure relaxation and this is exactly what we found. Due to a recent break in my Husbands leg, I requested a room close to all the amenities and we were allocated room 605 which was centrally located and perfect. The hotel has gorgeous views out over the Mediterranean and very well kept lawns, swimming pools & beach. You will find staff cleaning the hotel morning, noon & night. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I personally loved Hedi, he is a great asset to the hotel and checks everyday to see if you need anything. We were very lucky to have a singing Duo from the UK called The Secret and wow did the guy have an amazing voice! I doubt this is the last we have heard of them. The food was AMAZING! A great selection at all mealtimes with show cooking and a great vegetarian section. Both my Husband and I also tried the on site spa as the prices were very reasonable. A couple of things that could step things up just a little, I personally would prefer branded alcohol and would pay more for the privilege, although the wine offered is perfectly fine and lovely. Also a map of the whole hotel upon arrival would to suss out where things are. The hotel in general is very relaxed and you do not get pestered. Security guards patrol the beach and it is very safe. I believe that the 4 star rating is right for this hotel and the staff deserve a medal for all their hard work. We would definitely return in the future ☀️

Just got back on the 6th July.
Check in was very quick and the porter took the cases to our room. The room is fairly small but absolutely adequate. I will break the review down into those areas people are interested in:

Staff: Extremely friendly and helpful. The pool guy works non stop and will make sure you are comfortable with pillows and towels. The waiting staff will bring your drinks regardless of tipping or not, but it doesn't hurt to give them something, they deserve it. The assist manager Hedi is really good, always checking how things are and nothing is too much trouble. All staff have a smile on their face

Food: Fantastic, don't expect the great British breakfast cos you wont get it :). But there is plenty to eat at breakfast, try a Tunisian breakfast, lovely. Failing that there are omelettes, cereals, pastries, fruit etc. Lunch and dinner meant you were spoilt for choice. I'm usually fed up with hotel food towards the end of my holiday but not here. Plus all the food is hot as it is kept in temperature controlled dishes. The restaurant is lovely and its great to sit outside to eat your meal, overlooking the pool and beach

Drinks: Got to say I don't think these were as strong as they should be and the beer left a lot to be desired (flat). But there were cocktails and the wine was palatable

Pool/Sunbeds: Brilliant, could always get a sunbed. There was also a good range of four poster, of ratten style loungers which are very comfortable, but you need to be up early to get those. The pool is safe as it does not have a deep end so suits the less confident 'swimmer'.

Entertainment: Night time entertainment was quite good. We were lucky as they brought in two young lads on acoustic and bass guitar who were brilliant (the lead vocal was fantastic and should have a record deal imo). But they were only there a week, so then the entertainment was limited to an hour of whatever act was brought in eg sand artist, dance act etc. Day time activities were virtually non existent. Someone told me the activities co-ordinator was sacked whilst we were there which was not surprising as she didn't seem to really do anything apart from entertain her family who came for an holiday

All in all a good holiday and would definitely return

We are a group of four, aged 35-48, fairly well travelled, and this is the best holiday of its type we have had! The clientele was a good mix of ages, young couples and older people and, best of all, no children!

Rooms: all rooms have a sea view. It was a very easy and calm check-in; a welcome drink and a cold towel on arrival then a smooth process to get us and our luggage to our rooms. There was wine and fruit awaiting us along with petals everywhere! Some people have commented that the bathrooms aren't tiled; well, it isn't Europe! They are plastered perfectly well and everything was very clean. Tammy (Thomson rep) rang up to our room within a few hours of arrival to check everything was OK and helped us with something we'd forgotten to bring. Even at the end of our holiday, we had a goodbye letter and chocolates left in our room!

Food: the food was lovely, probably the best all inclusive vegetarian choice I have seen. Always piping hot and tasty, a good variety and regularly replenished; we were there for ten nights so a couple of "repeat themes" but even then it was not exactly the same choice. The Tunisian night was the best (perhaps not surprisingly) but it was all gorgeous. The waiters and chefs are also smiley and lovely; a special mention to "the Eggman" whose name we never did find out! He was always giggling and made the best omlettes ever! The restaurant was never crowded and there was never a scramble for food as one reviewer has claimed. We went to the Indian a la carte one night which was really good too. We only used the main restaurant for lunch on our first day; thereafter we preferred the pool snack bar where food was made to order - again, good variety and excellent service. Plus afternoon cakes!

Pool: the pool was nice and quiet which suited us fine (we preferred the main pool to the courtyard pool though that looked chilled out too). There were low level activities but never any pressure to join in; if you just wanted to lie in the sun then that was OK.

Note: the hotel policy is to leave only a minimum number of sunbeds out so as not to be overcrowded. When you first arrive, it can seem as though there aren't enough but you just have to ask the poolman (aka lifeguard) and he will fetch them along with cushions and pillows and put them wherever you want.

Tip: go for the grassy area; it's much easier to manoeuvre your sunbed during the day and you can use the trees as natural shade.

Staff: all the staff are so friendly and smiley all the time; they genuinely want you to be having the best time. No-one pushes for tips. RAMZI the pool barman, you made our holiday! From the second day, we didn't even have to ask, he would just arrive with drinks at regular intervals. MOHENDER was so good at lunchtimes, again bringing us more drinks without our having to ask - we hope you got to take your daughter to the beach in the end! Hedi and Ozzi were so lovely too; always happy and chatty, making sure we were OK. RAMZI evening waiter always made sure we had a table for four (they mostly being set up for two). NADIR, HAMDI and KHAMIES looked after us so well in the lobby bar at night. I know I keep saying this but all the staff just smile all the time and just want to have a laugh and joke with you; they are all so sweet.

The resident duo, Greg and Molly are so hard working, they just seemed to be performing all the time. I can't believe people have said negative things about them. The acrobats were heart stoppingly amazing and the Vegas dancers were brilliant too.

Trips: we did two Thomson trips, Tale of Three Cities and Lights and Lasers. We enjoyed both but I woukd probably say do the half day El Djem rather then the Three Cities as that was the highlight and the Monastir bit was just shopping which isn't out thing. Lights and Lasers was brilliant; a taste of Tunisian history with a huge meal and unlimited wine!

Reps: Tammy and Kirk are incredibly hard working, especially when there was a Tunisian strike and Tammy had to rearrange all the trips! Jess, you deserve a medal after being thrown in the pool fully clothed, playing water polo then straight out and into a game of boule with Stephen!

All in all this was a fantastic holiday! We even had fun on the day it rained (heavily) for two hours, four of us stubbornly huddled our brolly when everyone else had retreated inside...! I don't know how anyone could criticise this hotel. We are always looking for new places for our holidays and don't like to go back to somewhere again - but this hotel might just break that rule!!

Room Tip: Personally I wouldn't bother with a ground floor room with its own pool; it's in the shade b...

We had a great holiday here Hotel food was fabulous, staff were all happy and made you feel so welcome at all times. Our room bath/shower was unusual to say the least( not all apparently the same as ours( short with a step in it) but didn't detract from our holiday overall .Bed was very comfy with great sea view. Pool was perfect and plenty of options regarding beds shade and room, neck pillows were a great comfort, with the option of the beach if you preferred.
Downside was the litter coming in on the tide so sea swimming was out for us.
Definitely a hotel we would return to if going to Tunisia.

Returned on the 2nd July after a wonderful, relaxing week holiday. We read many reviews before going so we had a good idea on what to expect.
After a quick and easy check-in we were taken to our room which was not a massive room but perfectly adequate for a comfy stay. It was very clean and tidy and the bathroom, which seemed to be an issue for some, is clean and perfectly acceptable. At least with no tiles they have eliminated the problem of grotty grout.
The hard working staff are very friendly and polite and nothing is too much trouble for them and they always seem so happy in their work.
The pools and surrounding areas and gardens are immaculate and there are always plenty of beds, the more luxurious ones are snapped up at the crack of dawn. The standard sun beds are just as good, if not better as they are easy to move around as the sun changes position throughout the day.
In other reviews some people have commented on the smelly, littered beach, we didn't share those views and found it to be very clean and litter free.
We do agree with the comments regarding the spa/therapies and Ali Baba sellers. If you are really not interested then just say so when they first ask. We did book a trip with Ali Baba for the camel caravan but I would have rather booked it with Thomsons. Apart from being a lot cheaper, the journey to and from the camel station left a lot to be desired!
The food is amazing and prepare to put on a few pounds as you won't be able to resist the lovely dishes and desserts.
The only negative point that I can think of is that many of the guests would go into the restaurant for lunch in their bikinis with minimal covering tops and males with wet shorts. The chairs are upholstered so apart from being very unhygienic the chairs were often left sodden. It does stipulate that swimwear is not allowed but a lot of people did not adhere to this and we did hear other guests comment on this too.
We recommend the Animal park/Zulu evening which was great fun and well worth the money.
We had a lovely stay and hope to return there again one day so if you are in any doubt about booking here I would not hesitate, go for it!

This hotel is not bad (in fact Thompson boasts it is the best in Tunisia) but it is nowhere near the 4* rating given by Thompson Holidays.
If you are looking for a cheap, very average, no frills holiday this would be fine.
If you have ever been on even a semi luxury holiday, be prepared for disappointment.
A special mention however must go to Hedi, head of customer service. He literally saved this holiday single handedly.
We holidayed with another 4* destination with Thompson a year ago, which lived up to expectations and more. I find it difficult to understand how Thompson doesn't have a universal rating of their T stars, and will be wary of travelling with them again!
