We stayed between 22nd May and 2nd June in a swim up room 111 and 112.
Hedi (customer relations) is the main man. He's amazing. Always puts a smile on your face, genuinely cares, and does all he can to help.
Kirsty the rep was very informative with the trips, and very easy to get on with. She also helped us move rooms half way through our holiday. very approachable, her and Hedi have a great relationship (drawing pen on each other!)
Ozy the Assistant manager is also great, he's always around checking everything is OK, very attentive.
Barty Mohammed was our waiter for the 11 days, he was brilliant - never let your glass get empty - and always joking around.
The pools were freezing, but then that's what you need to cool you down as I'm sure it gets roasting. Weather was pretty good, rained a few times when we were there though :-(
The courtyard pool was really nice, and somewhere to get out of the breeze. The life guard here was great, always there with a mattress for your sunbed, it was almost as though he knew you were coming. The bar staff at this pool were also great, really friendly, and all because they were actually genuine, not cos they were waiting for a tip.
Unfortunately we didn't find the same thing at the main pool. If you want a decent sunbed you have to pay. The first 2 days we were up really early anyway so went and got the double beds, we didn't tip the pool guy, on the third day he told us we could no longer reserve them. Funny that cos the next morning there were loads of reserved beds, by those who'd paid - think money has to exchange hands which we didn't really appreciate so never went down there again.
Food is just out of this world, always fresh, different every night we were there. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all excellent. Be prepared to put on a few pounds ;-)
Tips for the hotel - get a bottle or rum and/or vodka in your pool bars, you've already got slushes so can easily make cocktails then. The flowers on the steps down to dinner was a nice touch, but only done once. Turn everyone's air con on to be used any time of the day - I have seen plenty of people complain about restrictions but we could've had it on 24/7 if we wanted. Advertise that WIFI can be used throughout the hotel/pool areas as it can. Turn OFF the mood lights in the club at night, they are awful and give you a headache ;-)
Tips for guest - If booking a swim up room make sure you don't get the middle one. We got a taxi it meant we arrived at the hotel before everyone and got to the airport before everyone, was worth it. Definately do the VIP airport thingy home, the airport is horrible and people end up sitting on the floor in the main terminal. If you go on the Indian Korma is the hot curry not the mild one. Don't accept Slim's first price for treatments, we didn't realise that we also had to haggle with the spa staff, we paid twice what others paid :-(
Our only disappointment was with the swim up room. If you look at the planned appearance and some of the actual photos they are so far from reality, and it was really disappointing, In our room the sun went by around 1100 the only way to get to the other side of our pool was to lift the sunbeds through the pool or try and navigate them past next doors patio which was really challenging. We paid £396 extra for a swim up room, and do believe we were mis-sold it. There is nothing that Hedi, Ozy or Kirsty could do about our complaint (although we did move for the last 3 days) as they cant change the layout of the hotel, so we are taking it up with HO.
I would definately recommend this hotel, the staff make it what it is and that is amazing. My scoring is not based on our swim up disappointment as the rest far outweighed it.
