“the wonders of egypt in 48 hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

I really would like to take time to thank Joseph and his team for our excellent stay in Egypt. We got to the port via a cruise liner and our guide was already there waiting for us at 630am. We proceeded to visit the beautiful pyramids of giza, had a lovely lunch then back to more sightseeing. We had an overnight stay at the meridien hotel which was also very clean and welcoming. We were just two and yet still had a very comfortable 8 seater van all to ourselves. SPECIAL THANX goes out to Osama our guide ...who was with us throughout the journey ...his knowledge about every place we went to is bewildering, he's also fun and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip. Thank you for your hospitality, your kindness, knowledge and for making us feel safe and welcome .

“Great customized family trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We are a family of 5, just returned from an unforgettable week-long trip to Egypt including visits to Cairo, Giza, Aswan and Luxor. Emo Tours put together a package that was fantastically well devised at an extremely competitive price. The itinerary was worked out in minute detail by email with Joseph who runs Emo Tours and he was extremely flexible and patient when it came to exploring every possible permutation.

Once in Egypt, every aspect of the tour went like clockwork with guides waiting for us in air conditioned cars and everything from hotels to sleeper trains, cruise ships to cultural tours going exactly according to plan. At each step of the way, a guide met us and looked after our every need, giving in-depth information about the sights we visited as well as providing useful tips about practicalities such as how much to tip people, where to find an ATM and where to get a good falafel! When taking us to the station in the evening to board our sleeper train, the guide stayed with us right up until he was sure we were on board and happy with our compartments at 10 in the evening. This came after Emo Tours had laid on a complementary hotel room for us in Luxor in the daytime, in order that we could rest and wash before our late departure. There was no charge for this and it was symptomatic of the very real sense we had that nothing was too much trouble when it came to making us feel secure and happy about arrangements.

Perhaps the only thing that worried us before departure was the question of how we would arrange payment as this had to be done either by bank transfer in advance or in cash upon arrival. In the event, Joseph was extremely accommodating and happy for us to pay in instalments or even all in one go at the end if we preferred. We brought part of the payment with us in $ which we gave to the first guide on day 2 and then withdrew the remainder in 2 further lots at the end of the week. Though this may seem slightly unconventional as method of payment, in the end it was no problem at all.

For their reliability, flexibility, value for money, courtesy and complete professionalism we would absolutely recommend Emo Tours to anyone visiting Egypt and wanting to arrange tours or accommodation.

“Emo tours best value best service visiting egypt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We have just returned from a wonderful cruise eastern Mediterranean 11 night we did similar trip last year but egypt was excluded . We checked out the price of excursions norwegian cruise line had to offer and they were crazy prices for the itinerary we had in mind the Norwegian jade was sailing into port said and leaving the next evening from port Alexandria we knew we had a lot to fit in in a short space of time and an overnight in cairo was essential. On a day trip to alayna turkey we went on the Internet checking our options and discovered emo tours egypt . After reading numerous reviews all glowing and very informative we emailed Joseph who immediately replied offering us a detailed 2 day itinerary. The immediate plus was the price ! And the next big plus was he said we could pay the guide at the end of the tour as we were booking by email we were more than pleased not having to give a credit card number or any personal details he just took us on our word that we would turn up at the port as arranged. We went through his itinerary and told him we had no interest in shopping for carpets or anything else as we wanted to avoid vendors and all the hassle it brings that we were informed about on the egypt talks on the ship and we outlined exactly what we wanted to see and do and Joseph once again without delay emailed us our final schedule.
On arrival at port said which was a bit manic and a bit daunting with so many people getting off the ship at the one time so early we were rather nervous until we saw a sign emo tour with both our names on it and met with a big smile from our tour guide Khaled . We immediately relaxed and were introduced to our very pleasant driver Adham . The main treat at this stage is that you are being driven around in an air conditioned car just the two of us and we were handed a welcome pack each of bottled water, can of coke, crisps and little chocolate cake we felt this was a lovely gesture and the air con is so welcomed throughout the day as one retreats back into the car a relief from the heat outside.
On the journey to cairo khaled our guide spoke to us about how best to deal with the locals and gave us an insight into their big religious feast which they were celebrating over a three day period and some information on all the local festivities. Our itinerary included the pyramids of Giza and the great sphinx we visited the oldest ancient cemetery of Sakkara and the pyramid of king zoster . We stopped and had beautiful lunch (lunch included in package) a mixed grill done bar b q style in a lovely restaurant that was full of locals celebrating their feast and there was a wonderful atmosphere which gave us a great insight into the Egyptian culture. We then drove to Memphis and visited the ruins of the temple of Ptah & the colossal statue of King Ramses the second. We were then brought to our hotel where an overnight of bed and breakfast was included in our price we were more than pleasantly surprised when Khaled checked us in at Le Meridian Pyramids and spa hotel our room was beautiful and we had a fantastic view of the great pyramids from the balcony of our bedroom. After a short nap and a lovely shower and freshen up we met with our guide and driver at reception where they took us to the sound and light show which we opted to see as a bonus offered on our itinerary for 45 dollars. We were delighted we went and enjoyed it immensely .
We arranged to meet khaled our guide the next morning at 7.45 after breakfast and we drove straight to the Citadel of Saladin and visited the amazing alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali (shoulders and knees must be covered and shoes must be removed while visiting the Mosque).

We continued next to the national archaeological museum which really is just amazing. There
Is just so much to see so much to take in we were given plenty of time by khaled and never at anytime felt rushed.
Next was a much welcomed felucca boat ride on the Nile as it was warm and this was cooling and relaxing and as khaled our guide and adham our driver came with us they pointed out various points of interest and we had a lovely time.

At this stage shopping is included we just opted out that was our own decision but for those of you interested it is included ! We had lunch once again included and began our long journey back to port Alexandria as we were anxious to be back on board in plenty of time.

Overall we had a wonderful two days in cairo we could not have done it or enjoyed it without using emo tours. Khaled took numerous photographs for us Adham our driver was never far away when we were finished visiting an attraction and that was very re-assuring at all times as one was able to leave their bag safely in the car .

Thank you Emo tours for a great service the greatest thing you offer is wonderful value for money as the shore excursions offered were crazy price and out of our budget as we had been in Israel for two days the two previous days and did it all independently and had an amazing time and the year previous ( most people we spoke to on board felt the same they are overpriced )

One a down note we met a lovely guide from emo tours standing at the port with his sign and he was waiting for a party of five off the Norwegian jade. We met him the next day by co-incidence at the museum but khaled our guide had already filled us in that the party of five never showed !! He was terribly upset and felt very hurt that a party of five would let them down like that. Emo tours rang the number given but they never answered. Emo tours took them on their good word just like they took us . We were saddened by this as the guide explained he had travelled from cairo the night before to over night he had a driver booked also who was waiting and as it was their feast it is a very special time they of course would prefer to be with their families celebrating but they need the work and the money. So overall they were well out of pocket.

He said it was the first time happening so we were relieved to hear that .

Keep up the good work Joseph we wish you continued business you deserve it.
Thank you
I

“Tour of Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We are a group of seasoned travelers who has never used tours and at recommendations of Egyptian friends we researched and send out queries to a few tour agencies. Emo tour responded to our queries promptly and their cost is reasonable. Emo tour tailor made our schedule and package per our needs. Our lead tour guide is a young man named Mahmud. He is polite and punctual. He ensured our stay is fun and memorable. In Cairo we had a informative tour guide named Mohammed, in Luxor we had a "professor" in Egyptology, he is a great story teller with attention to details. We learned so much. We experienced the sleeper train, hot air ballon, dinner on cruise and fallucca ride. Emo tour helped us in achieving a memorable and safe visit of Egypt.
