Stayed here for 3 nights with party of 5 in an apartment and a double room. Both rooms had been recently refurbished and were clean and well decorated even if not to my taste. The apartment had a great view of the waterfront.

The swimming pool was fine, and nice to have for our kids after a long trip from Bucharest.

Service and food in the restaurants was average; both nights we ate at the restaurant they forgot dishes we had ordered . The breakfast buffet was ok though the scrambled eggs on all 3 mornings were served cold and each morning they ran out of something (cereals or ham or cheese..)

The front desk organised a private trip on a small boat into the Delta that I would recommend at 20 euros per hour.

Tulcea itself is not particularly nice, though we did find a decent pizzeria round the corner from the hotel (just off Str Unirii).

So a comfortable base to visit the Delta from, though you may quickly tire of the hotel restaurant

The Delta Hotel is right on the Danube. The boat tour of the Delta leaves from right outside your hotel - it is a MUST! Warning re: mosquitos (we were ok all day, it was Sept, until dusk - tried to eat dinner on the restaurant patio overlooking the Danube - ending up swatting a lot at the bugs! The breakfast buffet in this hotel was OK, but you had to constantly ask the staff for coffee, orange juice (it never came!), mugs, milk, bowls, water....they kept running out of drinks and dishes! Probably our least favourite hotel during our trip to Romania, but still OK. The hotel was good where it mattered - a clean, comfortable, convenient place to stay.

This hotel has the best view amoung the hotels in Tulcea and is set in the center of the town, on the Danube river bank.
