“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

One of the best restaurants i've ever been in. Great location, close to the most interesting places in Brasov. Maybe the parking issue should be solved in that way that it will not be necessary that every time you want to enter or exit you have to get to the reception to get the remote control.

Room Tip: you should choose the rooms with the view to Republicii street

Amazing location, right in the heart of the old city center of beautiful Brasov. The rooms are outdated in furniture but they are very spacious and clean. Hotel staff was very kind and helpfull. We also chose to have breackfast which was great, plenty of choise hot and cold breackfast buffet, just make sure you have your breakfast early as they don't refill much. However if you want something that is not there anymore they are happy to make you some. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night, great food and good value. All and all a decent hotel nothing special but an amazing buget option and the best location for this city. We had a great time and can reccomand this hotel to everyone.

I tried to book at this hotel, but after a short visit I found that there is no heating and no warm water in the middle of winter... The rooms are huge and the furniture was made in 1970... Stay away :)

This imposing old building is located in the heart of the old city and some of its original features are very nice indeed but it really does need an upgrade! It felt a little like stepping back in the 80's (the room furniture, carpet and blankets looked so dated) but apart from that it was clean and luckily we didn't have any major unpleasant experiences. I thought it was a little overpriced though but we were in the centre of medieval Brasov so can't have everything :)
The only thing that was a disappointment was breakfast and particularly the restaurant. Unfortunately smoking in restaurants and other public places is still allowed in Romania, and having to eat breakfast in a smoky (and dark) restaurant first thing in the morning was pretty annoying for me. The menu consisted mostly of eggs, so we didn't have much choice. However, overall, our stay was okay, but in the future I will more than likely stay elsewhere.

We stayed here in August for only one night. In fact, our 9:30am train arrival was delayed until 4pm so we didn't have much time in Brasov. This hotel is a distance from the train station but once there, everything was close. It's old but has charm. The staff was nice and it was clean enough. We were leaving at 6am in the morning so I checked out the evening before. When the hotel realized we wouldn't be able to have breakfast, they sent someone up to our room with a bag lunch to take on the train. That came in handy when the train had no food onboard. We like this place but I could see it might not be for everyone.

I liked just about everything, the breakfast was good, but not ready at 7am, the staff were obliging, the room was HUGE and had a bathroom to match. Very clean room but the bathroom had a bit of a drain smell. Not close to the train station but there is a bus and taxis are cheap. No need to pay extra for transport to see all the sights. Walkable

The wifi was only available in the noisy lobby/smoking area. When you are a very long way from your family you do need to keep in touch. The smoking was appalling. It should not be too difficult to set up a separate room for wifi use, strictly non smoking.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

The room was enormous but felt a bit dated and shabby. The bathroom was very stylish - at one point in time. The location was excellent, right in the heart of the old town but this meant it could suffer from noise from the street from drunken revelers. The cleanliness of the room was not great either, the carpet didn't feel as if it had been vacuum cleaned in a while.
