“Exhibition Poor but Building amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The museum display is pretty drab. When you have seen one ethnographic display, you have seen them all in Bulgaria. However, the building is truly amazing and the biggest in the old town and the best preserved. Wonder round the place and check out the pannelled roofs and just a great well preserved piece of history inside and out. 5 levs for entry.

“I learnt Bulgarian history from this place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

There's nothing extraordinary in the museum, but cooperation with National Geographic have made the museum informative. The Kuyumdzhioglu House is a building that you can see Baroque architecture of Bulgaria. There are rooms that you can see life details and techical tools that have been used in Bulgarian country side.

“Nice look at traditional Bulgaria”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

We liked this museum. The family rate is a great deal. The building itself is interesting. Many traditional costumes on display and rooms decorated for the mid 1800's period.

“Informative museum in the old town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

The museum is situated in an old villa and has numerous rooms which are dedicated to different aspects of historical Bulgarian life. It is very popular with school trips so can be a noisy place but the exhibits are worth taking time over and give a good insight into the past. Our visit was made all the more special by a young lady who was practicing on the Grand Piano in the main entrance. She was an exceptional talent and we were privileged to have heard her. The entrance fee is 5 lev with an extra amount to take photos. Like all things in Bulgaria this is exceptional value and I certainly recommend it.
