For what they offer Afa is not a four star hotel. Three stars would be more realistic. The breakfast buffet was great. If the weather is good, you can enjoy your breakfast outside which is a very nice way to start the day. I stayed alone in a French room which was a good choice when I look at the pictures of the single rooms. The restaurant was not too bad. There was a lot of staff for a few guests but with so many people unemployed in Kosovo, this is no suprise. It was an interesting stay in Pristina and my transfer to Tirana on this new, almost empty highway was very fascinating. You can learn a lot from the driver about the situation in the country.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2011

I recently reviewed my one week June 2011 stay at the Prishtina Hotel here in Priština. On this return visit to Priština, friends recommended that I try the Afa Hotel. I've been in the Afa a week now and feel I can review it reasonably thoroughly.

The Afa appears to be an older hotel that was somewhat remodeled, so the decor is a mix of older and newer. It is located near the center, about a 10-15 minute walk from most of central Priština - but beware: it's all downhill to the center and all uphill coming back to the hotel. The hotel is able to call taxis to the door very quickly. You'll probably need a taxi to get to the main restaurant area of town (or at least one to get home!). There is parking available at the hotel. They have a large new van for airport pickups and deliveries, but make sure you double check your reservation for this. (They left one of my colleagues waiting at the airport because they forgot to pick him up!)

The hotel is very comfortable feeling. The staff is quite friendly and tries hard to be helpful. Most staff speak English and some have German.

The restaurant is still part of the older portion of the hotel and full of dark red decor and dark wood. The cuisine is quite good - with a tendency toward Albanian style cooking. The portions are large and the service is fast and friendly. The beer on draft is always cold and there is a reasonable selection of local regional wines (Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia). The buffet breakfast (included) is good with an adequate variety of cold and hot dishes. There's a cook on duty so I imagine they could whip up an omelet on demand, but I haven't tried that.

The hotel has a small garden that is extremely pleasant this time of year for breakfast or dining outdoors or just sitting in the shade enjoying a drink. The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood and the garden is enclosed so it is very quiet and peaceful. There are trees and flowers (and some very lively caged parakeets that keep up a day long song).

I had a standard room (3rd floor - looking out on the garden) and it was quite comfortable and large enough. A/C, cable TV, small fridge (water and a daily coke is free). the bed was large (the closet/armoire was small, but there's a cabinet with two shelves for clothes). There is a desk and chair with a desk lamp that worked fine for my laptop working in the room - as well as a small table and two easy chairs. On request, the hotel quickly brought me a multiple plug extension cord to accommodate all of my "gadgets". The room lighting was good.

There is free internet (both cable and wifi) in the rooms, as well as wifi in the garden and restaurant. The hotel has one desktop computer and printer in the lobby for guest use.

The bathroom was modern, clean and everything worked (though the lighting was poor). But there was a "rocket ship" parked in the middle of it. This was an enclosed tub-shower equipped with whirlpool jets, a radio, and a lot of knobs, and nozzles (and a remote control) that I have never figured out how to use. But for a shower, it worked just fine. The shower is large (like me) and it's impossible to splash water out onto the floor. Plenty of hot water and good pressure.

There is a small fitness center off the garden which is reasonably well equipped.

The laundry service is same day and they did a good job on my clothes.

The hotel has several larger meeting rooms and would be a good place for business meetings/workshops. I saw one workshop (about 30 people) there since I've been at the hotel and with access to the meeting room and enough room (space and tables) in the garden to have several smaller groups (5-8) it seemed that they were very comfortable.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to others coming to Priština on business.

I Stayed there a week, and was amazed with the quality of the service, room and Facilities.
I travel a lot all over the world but haven't find a midrange room priced at 70 Euros a night with a sauna and jakuzzi i the toilet, massage chair in each floor, fitness club and many more.

I was very impressed by overall value and services of this hotel and would recommend to everyone.

Cannot fault anything, breakfast was great, what a choice!! staff and service 100%, the food in the restaurant was just the best especially the steak, the best we have ever had. The rooms were big, spacious, clean, with free soft drinks in the fridge, good choice of t.v. channels. We just can't wait to come back. The location is about 15-20 minutes walk to town but the hotel will always order one for you if you ask. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They have a lovely garden area where you can have breakfast or have your meal, its so relaxing, with some beautiful birds to look at. there is nothing I can fault at this hotel, its probably the best we have stayed in and we have stayed in many over the years

Room Tip: We had room 207, no noise and very quiet

The Hotel is quite nice, the room big and clean. The breakfast is really good, you find all kinds of food... The service is okay, the waiters are a little bit strange, you have to give them way and they seem to be more interested in their mobile phones than in responding to a hand-sign of the guest. The reception guys need a while to get warm... but who comes for that. As a place to sleep and eat it is quite good (I ordered food to the room, it tasted good and had a reasonable price). Only thing is the rooster in the neighbour garden: When you like wake up calls at sunset take a room in the old building, otherwise I suggest to take one in the new building. I was there in Winter. There was an exhaust pipe of a neighbour house 5 meters from my room. I woke up in the night, because my room was smelling like hell. The smoke came through closed windows. Fortunately wind direction changed, but this is really a big minus - even when it is not in the authority of the hotel management to change that.
So; good place in Pristina, but go with the new house of the hotel or choose a room facing the city, not at the side.

In fact the reviews by Madmikeb, Dubbie99 and SueKot say it all.
Quiet location yet easy to get in to town. Never saw any staff being less than helpful and friendly - never rude. This was my second stay.
The single rooms can be small but mine had everything I need including a desk, and chair for work and the free WiFi AND cable internet. The four free soft drinks every day are a nice touch and the room was spotless.
Breakfast selection is huge and if you ask nicely they will get you a proper macciato coffee!
The only down sides are: 1) They are building a large extension, which in late September is almost complete. This meant construction noise especially over the weekend, but only during daylight. 2) Avoid at all costs room 408 which is right next to the lift machinery on the top floor and whirrs and clangs day and night. They moved me when I complained.
