Based on TripAdvisor recommendations, we booked with the Monty B several weeks in advance. We were only to be in Kotor for one day while passing through on a cruise ship, and were so excited to be able to make reservations! A few weeks before we were to leave on our trip, we received an email from Tim and Katie, stating that two other guests would be joining us...sure, no problem, we were fine with sharing the experience.
Two days before we left Los Angeles, Tim and Katie cancelled our reservations, stating that they needed to take a vacation themselves. Because our plans with the Monty B were cancelled so soon to our departure date, we did not have time to make other plans. We ended up enjoying Kotor, but we were, and still are, SO disappointed. I don't know if we will ever be back in that part of the world, but I do wish Tim and Katie the best. I don't begrude anyone some time off work, but I feel it is very poor form to cancel patrons who are coming from such a long way and for only a short time.

We have asked Trip Advisor to remove this review as it is misleading and partially untrue. In the meantime, this is our response:

We cancelled this customer's trip under exceptional circumstances, with 10 day's notice. As this is something that we were not happy about doing, we found a high quality alternative boat trip for her (a beautiful and larger yacht run by another British couple) for the same price (a great deal). We offered her the alternative trip, 10 days prior to her arrival in Kotor, to which she replied "Very disappointed, but understand....Thanks for the other offer but we will pass."
We are somewhat mystified as to why this person has felt the need to put something so potentially damaging to our business on our Trip Advisor page, particularly as it is now a year after the event and an alternative trip WAS offered.
We feel that this is a very unfair representation of our customer service as this is an aspect of our business about which we take pride and consistently receive very positive feedback, as the other reviews testify.
