We visited Crimea for the first time in September 2012 and it was very wonderful. We had a contact with Sergey Tsarapora via emails asking him two tours and also a transfer (for our return). With very prompt and responsible replies, all our requests were properly arranged. Luckily we were also guided by him for two days.
We were first met in Simferopol, and Sergey escorted us to Bakhchisaray (Khan´s Palace, Uspensky Monastery and Chufut-Kaleh Cave Town). Khan´s Palace was very exotic look and we saw lots of interesting interiors and exhibitions. About Chufut-Kaleh, the story of Karaites was also very new and interesting to us. After a lunch in Bakhchisaray, we continued our trip long way up to Ay-Petri. It is not an extremely high mountain, but a panoramic view of Yalta from the top was very beautiful. We also stopped at the Uchansu Waterfall on the way to Yalta.
On the following trip, we visited first the main sights of Yalta such as Livadia Palace, Swallow´s Nest (only from the viewpoint) and Alupka Palace. Livadia is already well known for the Yalta Conference, but we were also very impressed with the collections of the last Tsar and his family in upstairs of the palace where they used to spend sometimes as their summer residence. Alupka was also nice to see-interesting architecture, interior, gorgeous art collections and beautiful marble sculptures etc…Also a view from the terrace and the garden was very marvelous and fascinating. We continued our trip also to Balaclava (Underground Submarine Base), Sevastopol (Panorama Museum), the Valley of Death and Inkerman´s Cave Monastery etc… Especially “Panorama” was so spectacular and impressive! It is also worth to see. It was 10-hours long trip, but because of Sergey´s helpful advice and support, we could get to see so much more than we originally planned. He is an excellent guide. Also very knowledgeable (it´s amazing), reliable and very responsible as well.
Here is the information about Sergey- “private guide Sergey Tsarapora” at Crimea Yalta Tour (www.sergoyalta.at.ua). And his email is: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can get lots of helpful information from his webpage and it might help you get some idea for planning your trip.
