“Great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. It is a 30-40 minute walk to the Old Town, although a frequent bus service connects the Puntamika area (where the hotel is) to the centre in around 5 minutes. There are also a number of pleasant bars and restaurants in the area. The beach across the hotel is a pebble beach but still pleasant. Sunbeds, towels and umbrellas are provided by the hotel. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, very clean, and with a large terrace with a seaview. Breakfast on the terrace was an unforgettable experience. However, the hotel's strongest point is its friendly and courteous staff. Everyone from the staff at reception, at the restaurant as well as the room attendant was polite and ensured we had a great stay. Considering that a service with a smile is quite a rarity in Zadar, we will certainly return to this hotel next time we're in the area.

We were a bit hesitant when we pulled up outside Hotel Niko and saw a cerca 1980s apartment building renovated into a hotel. But it was on the waterfront and it was only a short distance from the old town so we figured it was probably still worth it. It was worth every Kuna and more!!!

The service at this place is second to none. The front desk staff go out of their way to make you feel at home right away, and take the time to give you all the information you might need on where to eat, drink, what to see, and how to get from place to place. And, while our room was a bit cramped, it was very clean and the bed made for a very restful sleep. But the best was yet to come.

In the morning we were greeted by another cheerful service staff in their attached restaurant and were treated to the best breakfast I've ever had. Fresh baked pastries, vine ripe fruit salad, warm bread, and juicy tomatoes and local cheese and laid about before you, and that is before they take your order for eggs or pancakes!!! They also make every coffee to order as they take there Kava very seriously.

It was the perfect start to our day and we wish we had more of them to spend at Hotel Niko. I would pay the room rate for the food alone.

Room Tip: try for seaside room, they are brighter.

My family and I were at this wonderful hotel for one night, and we have to say it was one of the most enjoyable stays of our many European travels to date.
From the initial booking, to check out…we were treated like royalty.
Kudos and many thanks to Sarina, Maria and Nina for a most enjoyable stay!

A special thanks to Nina for the insight on Trogir...

In forty years of traveling extensively in Europe and the US, I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel with more sincerely warm and accommodating service. The warmth of the family owners of Hotel Niko was so special that it caused us to want to come from Georgia back just to experience the welcome. The rooms and furnishings throughout are lovely. The setting is lovely with excellent swimming conditions and the restaurant had superb food and superior service! Truly outstanding overall.

Our group of 7 motorcyclists stayed here in the middle of May on our way to Split and Dubrovnik. Classy, clean rooms with safe parking on site, in front of the hotel. Pictures of the owner with Michael Schumacher and other famous people on the wall. Restaurant was busy even on a Tuesday night - a good sign.
Staff very friendly with perfect english, will take Euro or Kuna. Nice seafront benches across the road. The breakfast was extensive and everything was hand prepared and freshly made. By mistake, we forgot to leave a tip after breakfast, something we still feel bad about considering the effort the girl serving us made !! sorry. Taxi to old town Zadar was incredibly inexpensive at 5 euro equivalent.
Recommended.

Croatia is a beautiful country well worth a visit. You can drive the Adriatic from Rovinj, Istria down the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik and never get on a cruise ship. You must stop in Zadar and stay at the Hotel Niko. The people who work there are friendly and the service is superb. It is right across the street from the Adriatic where there is a rocky beach (Ouch!) or a short walk to the sandy beach (ah!). The food at Niko is excellent. It has its own restaurant where you must ask for Josef to be your server. We ate dinner there both nights and loved each dinner, Breakfast is memorable. Hotel Niko makes your time in Croatia a glorious memory!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the Adriatic. It is a beautiful way to end the day.
