Against our rule, not to go to hotel restaurants and even less so to a restaurant in a hotel we are staying, we tried this new place, as we liked already the rooms.
In contrast to any other tourist place we've visited in Croatia, this restaurant very positively distinguishes itself. It truly aspires to serve above average quality and also look of food. Not the standard fare, but modernized classic Croatian dishes for a fair price (not cheap though, in particular the wine).
While there is truly potential, it is obvious that the service team is not fully up to the standards given by the decor and also the cook. In particular the chef d' who (unfortunately) became our waiter has obviously not been trained for the service job. This was very much in contrast to some of his staff, offering the 4 star service you would expect in such a location. The chef d' managed to forget our orders for the main and only realized, when he was about to clean our table. No apologies, but just a 2 minutes wait promised. Well, we spent about two and a half hour for two in principle simple courses, in less than a full restaurant. So we decided to skip dessert and coffee.
If the chef d' keeps a bit in the background, the rest of the trained staff will get this place thriving soon.
