“Meat Lovers place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012 via mobile

4 persons eating here and we were more than happy. Well cooked meat and ok service. No Wine selection, but you have to try this when in zadar. Just remember that the meat dish for 2 is more than enough for 3, and if you want dessert, the dish is enough for 4 people!

“Disaster,horror”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

this is the worst restaurant,i was there with my friend and we ordered risotto with shrimps(be careful guys, waiters will tell that shrimps are from adriatic sea and thhat they're fresh-IT'S A LIE,they're buying them in Metro(it's a supermarket who is offering frozen shrimps, who knows from where),i ordered four cheese pizza, and the cheese was terrible,i almost threw up when i tasted pizza, juckkkk. After that UNFORTUNATELY we ordered that SO CALLED FAMOUS CHEESE CAKE,cake was old,the dough stink and the mascarpone cheese was was smelly, horrible, and the waiter was very unpleasant when we told him that the meals were horibble and smelly. My partner had food poison and i took him immediatly to the hospital in Zadar that night, and all that because of smelly cheese cake and so called Shrimps,i honestly hope that they will close that restaurant because that restaurant is embarasing Zadar,The waiter was very unpleasant with us,i will never go there, just horrible, lying to regular guests is horrible,we know how to recognize

“an unpretentious kanoba where size matters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

It's the portion sizes and moderate prices I suspect that attract the punters to this unpretentious kanoba.
However on my visit I found more than that...the service was good... from a young hard working waiter (a Frankie Boyle look alike but don't let that put you off) who made good recommendations from the menu. My starter was the famous local Pag cheese which was a huge plateful and half found its way into my doggy bag.

I wanted a simple plain steak and that's what I got, large. juicy and cooked to perfection with a mountain of chips that come automatically with it and fill a long oval dish.
The atmosphere was good and I was interested to see that there were locals eating here as well as tourists....always a good sign.
The kanoba is situated on the Marina on the way out of the hotel zone so you will have to make a bit of an effort to track it down , but for good honest food at non rip off prices I suspect you will be pushed to find a better deal in Zadar.

“Mountain of food at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

We returned one year later, but sensibly ordered one main meal(meat platter) to share. Again a mountain of food and very tasty if a little basic. We had to queue for a table this time but it was worth the wait.Lots of good tasty basic food in a nice setting, the waiter we had was very informative and helpful.

“Not cheap but value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We arrived late at 11.30pm on a friday, no problem getting food. Ramsteak (biiiiiiiiiiiig) and fried calamares (only ate half) where nice, also french fries where too much but very nice!

Not crowded (30/08) and quiet location, nice terrace.

Tip: order one meal for two people
