“Big and beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We liked the room, concierge service and the breakfast. The reason they don´t receive a 5 star was the customer service from the reception and the lack of sunbeds.

If you don't mind to walk a little bit (1/2) hour to the downtown and change location for a relaxing place with great view, this is the place. The property needs a little touch up but you can get bigger rooms or suites for great prices.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Stayed for 7 days - booked for a relaxing holiday in the sun together with some culture! The location is amazing; views of the Adriatic & surrounding islands. Would stay again for the location.
Pros
Lovely pool area; Variety of sun beds (but you need to get your towels on them early!); choice of swimming in sea or pool, both great options.
Drinks and food served in pool restaurant or at your sun bed
Rooms very nice, great air con, good balcony with 2 sun-beds
The food in the various restaurants was very nice
Big selection at breakfast, (poor selection of fresh fruit considering the season) coffee top ups etc, eating on the balcony was glorious
Walk to the town was about 15 mins, taxi back 65 kuna, nice to be outside the old town
Very helpful receptionist when our pre booked car didn't arrive
Cons
"Management" were present at breakfast but never spoke to any guests, not even a good morning. very poor for a 5 star hotel
Customer service overall was inconsistent. The employees in the pool area were friendly and helpful if a bit chaotic at times. Service elsewhere was not good. On our last night, we were sat at a table in the Angora bar. Some other customers had moved some chairs to another table. After they left, the staff re arranged the tables and chairs and I had to move out of the chair I was sat in so they could put the 'proper' chair back in its place. Every time we ordered something, a bill was brought, hardly encouraging to buy more drinks or have a coffee.
Restaurants were quiet and consequently had no atmosphere, great options in town.
Room service was early, gave you about 5 seconds to get to the door, toiletries not replaced every day and were the sort of product you get in a 3 star hotel.
No details of Wifi charges in the room- don't think it should be chargeable at a 5 star hotel

Stayed here on a recent hol to Dibrovnik. Hotel is gorg. Really lovely and clean rooms with a great view from the 5th floor. 8th floor has fab views but the overhang from restaurant shades the balcony so avoid this floor! We moved as I like to sunbathe in the mornings while my boyfriend sleeps in! Breakfast was a little disappointing. A lot of food but nothing exceptional. If we went back to Dubrovnik I'd opt for Bellvue hotel nearby which is a boutique hotel and food is fab there :) sunbathing area is amazing though and staff quite friendly and helpful. Overall we lived Dubrovnik and really enjoyed our stay at the Rixos.

Fantastic staff who try very hard to please. Everything was lovely in the room except the bathroom. This has to be the worst designed shower I have ever come across! It is impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom- which not ideal as it' s more or less open-planned!!! The lifts took forever so we ended up using the stairs- which was probably best as the food was rather plentiful at breakfast and we were prone to taking full advantage. Location was ok- 15 mins to Old Town and pleasant enough stroll for dinner. Poolside bar was fine, if not rather expensive but the staff are pleased to help! Probably would recommend but not overly enthusiastic!

If you bring your car, you would slightly confused to finding its location at first as this hotel is next to oneway road.

Ground parking lot needs to be controlled as seems car owners other than hotel guests park up this spots.

Check in and check out was quick and efficient. Rooms ok but I hope there's coffee pot(water boiling tool) to get some tea.

Many selection for cheeses and hams at buffet breakfast and since space is large, no worries for crowded.

Location is good for sight seeing. 10 min drive to old town.

The property needs a little touch up but you can get bigger rooms or suites for great prices. The pool area is excellent with two Restaurants. I will comeback to this hotel instead to the ones in the downtown. The construction of the hotel in the cliff might confused you at the time of taking the elevators. The hotel is big so don't expect immediate room service. It also has nice boutiques. If you want the best option ask for the suite above the SPA, I can't remember the number.....

Room Tip: Ocean view or suites.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comments. Hotel Libertas Rixos is situated near Old town, just 15-20 min walking distance. Near hotel is a bus station (No. 4) who runs every 20 minutes and it goes directly to the Old town.
Once again I want to thank your feedbacks and I hope you will come back one day. Best regards

This hotel has a gorgeous view of the Adriatic and a nice pool area, but we found the rooms a bit plain and odd. The nightstands are very low making it uncomfortable to talk on the phone or get anything off of the nightstand. The bathroom has a glass enclosed tub/shower combo which is peculiar as it protrudes into the room and is an uncomfortable arrangement while sharing a room with a friend...unless you are not inhibited by showering or bathing in a clear glass enclosure. Walking to old town is a brisk 20+ minute walk that includes up and down hills...so a bit of a time thief. The hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet with a balcony view of the Adriatic. Tried to get an appointment at the spa and hair salon...none available and only one person working in the salon.

Room Tip: Get a room with a patio view of the Adriatic and watch the sunrise.
