“Very nice hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at Ivka hotel for 2 nights. It was a very nice hotel, warm, spacious, clean, staff was friendly and always ready to help. Very good location, just outside the hotel you could take the bus to old town. It has a garage you can use and the food was very good quality and not expensive. The only thing we didn't like it was the bed. We reserved a room with 1 double bed, we had two twins brought close together. Overall was a very good hotel and definitely would come back again.

I liked very much the stay in IVKA Hotel. Everything was very good, except the weather :), but it was not included in what the hotel offered :)
The guys in the reception were all very friendly and polite. The food was very good. The room was big and very clean. It is a perfect hotel, especially for me because I had all the institutions and banks 10 minutes walking away.

Stayed for a week, very good location a few minutes from the waterfront, plenty of places to eat within a ten minute walk & only five bus stops. ( £ 1.30 ) to the Old City. Hotel very clean, towels changed daily, sheets every second day. Free Wifi throughout the hotel, decent selection for breakfast, free car parking ( outside & underground ). Decent sized room with balcony, overall a great place to stay and would go back.

Room Tip: We stayed at the back, but generally the hotel was quiet so room location not a problem.

This lovely 3 star hotel centrally located . Very Clean, Very modern and very comfortable.
We enjoyed our last night of our 12 day trip to Montenegro , Hvar and Croatia. It
was a good choice for our last stop and 20 minutes from the airport.
The manager was very accomodating in letting us have a late check out as our flight home was
in late afternoon.
Breakfast buffet was was delicious.
We were very happy with our choice of this hotel!

Not a bad hotel, but definately on the more budget end of hotels.

Booked a double but were given a twin with beds pushed together. The room was rather small and with the sloping roof taking up a lot of space. No toiletries provided other than towels and a soap dispenser, no facilities to make your own drinks and the bar closes at about 2230. Some staff friendly and helpful, others less so.

Breakfast buffet is not great, gives you food for the day but can't say I enjoyed it.

Is about a 35 minute hilly walk from the old town.

Overall, not bad for an economy hotel, but wasn't worth the money for us.

We got a very nice clean room with a balcony. The hotel is located in a quiet area, a bit away from the action, but there is very good bus service to the old town and other areas nearby. There is also a very good small grocery store close by where my we were able to get very good and inexpensive fruits.

The staff were very helpful in advising how to get around using the bus service. We were particularly pleased with a suggestion to take a bus trip to the seaside village of Cavtat (a one-hour ride costing around 3 Euro each way), where we spent a very pleasant day.

Booked with Riviera tour group to visit Bosnia, Croatia and Montenegro with a friend, but decided 8 days was insufficient to view major attractions in depth so flew direct from Belfast to Dubrovnik to extend my stay by a week. Old Town Hotels very overpriced in September, and all fully booked. Ifka is a business-style hotel which also accommodates short-stay tour groups. I was able to secure a last minute deal which included half board. I basically needed a convenient base to explore the Old Town and its environs, and the Ifka fulfilled that criteria. Clean; tastefully furnished bedroom; spacious balcony; large, modern bathroom; a small but adequate buffet of tasty food, hot and cold, and a good range of local fresh fruit and vegetables including figs, grapes, various melons, watermelon, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes and salads. The dinner buffet was best eaten at 7pm. It was rather tired looking, especially the fish, if left to the last minute, and food was promptly cleared away at 9pm. However, as the main business of the hotel centred on tour groups with set meal times, this was understandable. Wi fi reception in the bedroom was excellent and the hotel desk managed to find an adaptor plug for my laptop. There were no ironing facilities, but the laundry and pressing service was reasonably priced and efficient. Similarly, no tea and coffee making facilities, but bar staff were happy to provide me with hot water and milk for my bedtime brew. Reception staff were also very helpful in arranging mini-cabs to the Dubrovnik cable-car, Old Town, and the airport, and trips with the excellent Amico Travel for pick-up at the hotel, and I was able to fit in full day trips to Mostar and Medugorje, Korcula and Ston, and the Elaphite Islands. If you want a decent overview of the Dalmatian Riviera, a week is inadequate, and coach tours can be too concentrated and constrained. This was an ideal combination, as I was able to pace myself and visit the Old Town and Cable Car, museums, etc when the hordes of cruise ship tourists had departed.

Although the hotel provides safes in the room, I mislaid a little tanzanite necklace and could not find it in my room. I presumed it had been swept up with the laundry. Imagine my surprise to find it had been delivered to my Valamar hotel room in Babin Kuk when I returned to Dubrovnik four days later!! Thank you for a pleasant stay Hotel Ifka.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor room with balcony facing towards Old Town.
