“Must do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

If you look at the city with it's touristic, expansive places and luxury liner, this is another very important perspective of the city and the war which took place just a few decades before. Prepare to be really sad afterwards.

“Powerful exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

After walking around the old town and seeing all the ancient history and doing the touristy things, this is a powerful reminder of more recent history of this magnificent place and these wonderful people. The pictures of all the mostly young people who fought and perished is very emotional. The damage to the old town and the manner in which it has been rebuilt is a testament to the strength and pride of the residents. It is important to visit this museum to better appreciate what this city, region is all about. It is a very humbling place.

“VERY MOVING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Until you visit here it is hard to appreciate what the Croation people in Dubrovnik went through. Devastation to so much of the city, loss of life and great hardship. Words can't express, puctures can only help imagine what it must have like. The bonus was it was open and free.

“A must see, if you want to understand this city.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Be prepared to be moved and to be humbled when you see photo after photo of so many young men who died defending this city. I knew i couldn't leave Dubrovnik without paying my respects, so to speak and remembering what this city has gone through.

“Very Beautiful and Emotional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

The entry to this arena is very beautiful and offers many photo opportunities but once you enter into the room of photos of lost lives during the war, it is overwhelming with faces and lost lives. My husband was able to review and read the details, and since I was already familiar with the historical content but then saw the faces of all the young lives lost, I just couldn't spend much time here. I am proud of the Croatia people for the strength, pride, and dedication is fighting for their country. This place should definitely be a quick stop for everyone come to Dubrovnik, if only to pay our respects!
