Unfortunately it rained like you've never seen it rain the day we went but that didn't take away from the beauty of this place. Stunning and well worth it.
Took a boat for a 3.5 hour charter from Dubrovnik Old City harbour for 150 euros, stopped off on the island for an hours wander. Lovely place, peaceful and quiet (this was low season though - might be different at the peak cruise ship time...). You can stay at private houses with guest rooms on the island. Would love to go back and do that.
lovely place to visit for a day, quaint town, you can walk round it in 30 minutes! we arrived on a boat as part of a cruise, one of the nicest places included on the trip
Yes, you can lose the will to live on your coach ride to this island, (it does take a wee while!) but boy is it worth it!
Everything worked. The weather was fab. Clear blue sky, warm, but not hot, good company on the coach, but the icing on the cake was when we arrived. After a short tour, we broke for lunch and had a delicious lunch with "wow" views on the waterfront.
I could have dropped dead there and then. It just doesn't get better than this.
A brief stop for the alchoholics at a wine factory then back to Dubrovnik with one of the best coastal views you could ever wish for. If you are not impressed by these views, then you are already dead.
This trip was booked at the last moment, and of the four we did this week, this was the best.
Why did he leave? It is a beautiful little island and charm itself. The journey to and from Dubrovnik is long but certainly worth it.
