No explanation in English about the legend of St. Blaise and the connection with the Feast of Candlemas on the Saint's Day 2 February and how this Saint helps sore throats..

“Impressive treasury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2011

I hate the custom of keeping relics which we often see in Southern Europe but the incredibly busy treasury inside the church is worth the small fee.

“A true testament to the human spirit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

I should lump all of Dubrovnik in this review. I can't say enough about the city, the people, or the triumph of the Croatians. 67 percent of this city was bombed or shelled out in the 1990s and has mostly been rebuilt, but still in the medieval spirit, so none of it's charm is lost. You can lose yourself for hours I this walled medieval ancient city. There are so many wonderful little streets with great shops, cages, restaurants, churches, local markets, etc. You can walk on the top of the city walls, which gives you wonderful views of the Dalmation coastline and Adriatic, as well as views into the city itself. The city will touch your heart when you realize what the people went through, not that long ago, survived and rebuilt, and thrived once again. You can still see bullet holes and mortar shell damage in the walls. Damage was done, but the people were not destroyed. Spend a day or a week here, and I think you will fall in love with the place.

“Wonderful Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2011

We found this church at the end of the Stradun near Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace and around the corner from the Cathedral of Dubrovnik.

St. Blaise is the patron saint for Dubrovnik. The building is in the baroque style and was built in the early 1700’s. On the top of the facade was a large statue of St. Blaise.

Inside we found several interesting pieces of art with paintings and statues.
