Small, quiet and very simple but poignant displays. I had the museum and synagogue to myself which was wonderful for reflection.
You have to pay a small entrance fee.Not very spacious inside but probably for the small old city population satisfied with the volume.
We were very pleased that we visited this, the second oldest Synagogue in Europe. It seems such a shame that it is no longer used for services due to lack of a Rabbi (and congregation). The museum housed in the same building is also very interesting. Worth a visit if you are interested in history.
despite following the signs from the alleyways off Stradun & consulting 2-3 maps we never managed to find this place. apparently the second oldest synagogue
A beautiful old-style synagogue. How sad that there are no longer enough people (enough men!) to make it an active congregation. Beautiful, though, and with lovely relics of the old days when Dubrovnik did have an active Jewish community.
