Stayed 3 nights as part of Go Ahead Tours, so roooms pre-assigned. We had room 404 - top floor, right off stairway, right over bar/patio area. Excellent views of harbor - you could see the many cruise ships entering port each morning, leaving later in day. Only downside to this room was the noise in the evening from the bar/patio below, plus the nearby minimall area, with its restaurants - weekend 'parties' often went to 2 am.
Great breakfast buffet - plenty of hot/cold choices, including eggs made to order. WiFi in our room worked very well all the time, and it was free. Ten minute walk to pebbly beaches - Cava or Copa Cabanna. Suggest you bring flip flops or water shoes, as it's hard on your feet on beach and nearshore.
As others have noted, catching the #6 bus into the old city is very easy, convenient (right up the drive from hotel), and only costs 12 kuna each way if you buy your tickets from the hotel gift shop (15 on bus from driver).
Would stay again.
