“Excellent, informative and FUN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

The entire tour was a complete delight, Mario is engaging, interesting and very knowledgable! We learned more on this wine tour than many others we have been on in other parts of the world. It was fascinating to see the creative growth of the new wine production in Croatia, truly unique in the wine world. Mario's food and wine pairings were simple yet perfect in highlighting the Croatian wines. We will never forget seeing vineyards where Dingac is grown, quite a feat of nature!

“Wine Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We were on a guided tour and decided to do a more private excursion. It was the highlight of our trip..The guide was great, the wineries were great and we especially enjoyed the fresh oysters from the sea and the dinner at the end. Everyone on our group tour was jealous!!

“Highlight of Our Trip - Worth the Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

A good friend and I spent a week in Dubrovnik at the end of August, and were eager for a day to escape the city and see some of the rest of Croatia. After doing some research, we decided to book the wine tour, which was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Mario was an excellent guide and host for the day, and he arrived promptly at our hotel. Although the tour is a little pricey (at least by Eastern European standards), we had the opportunity to taste at least 10 different wines, and had a really lovely late lunch before heading back. Mario's passion and enthusiasm for wine is immediately apparent without some of the pretentiousness that I've seen when doing other wine-related activities. Overall, we learned a ton, and felt like we definitely got our money's worth. I would absolutely do this tour again.

“Fantastic wine tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

A great day from start to finish! Our trip started as Mario picked is up from nearby our hotel and we set off along the beautiful coastal road to the peninsula. Mario is firstly a great host, easy to chat to and he gave us a brief insight into our itinerary. We stopped first at a local oyster grower for the chance to taste the freshest oysters imaginable but also to either learn or be refreshed on how to taste wine and pair it with food. Sure enough, the crisp white was perfect.
Next we drove further into the peninsula, stopping at the leading producers to sample their take on the fantastic Croatian Plavac Mali grape in all it's guises. Each stop with the expertise of Mario and a small bite to eat to illustrate just how beautifully food can complement each different wine. We travelled to view the precariously grown Dingac vineyards - some literally grown on the cliff face. The excursion also includes a stop at Mali Ston at one of the local restaurants and the best seafood I have ever tasted. Seafood pâté, black risotto, calamari, this list goes on...
The day was easily the best day of our holiday - fun, interesting, value for money. A real must do!

“A passion and enthusiasm for wine that is contagious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We took the Classic One Day tour with Mario of the Peljesac peninsula. Mario is very knowledgeable about wines in general due to his sommelier education, and his experience and enthusiasm for his native Croatian wines was very contagious! Most importantly, not only is Mario knowledgeable but he does a very good job of explaining wine appreciation for beginners and budding enthusiasts alike! We drove up to a small family-owned oyster farm near Ston where we enjoyed really delicious oysters (rightfully famous!) Afterwards, we went to the vineyards themselves where we tried the grapes from off of the wines. We went to three different wineries where we tried a variety of Croatian wines and even a late seafood lunch that was delicious. I highly recommend Mario's tour as a day trip if you are staying in Dubrovnik!
