“One of the better places to see in Old Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

In Dubrovnik old town, once you have done the tour of the walls and a walking tour , I would recommend the Rectors palace to spend 30-45 minutes in. The building itself is nice, there is an interesting story on how long one remained a Rector, why they never left the building, and lots to see inside including a discussion room, seats of various Rectors, a jail, guns, collection of vases etc etc. It is best to buy a day pass to cover the city walls and the Rector palace (plus other attractions).

“The best place EVER to hear the symphony!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE SYMPHONY:

This rector's palace is where the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra performs. They are very, very good - and worth a trip if you are not just staying in town for the day on a cruise ship (it starts at 9:00 p.m.). I think they perform twice a week.

The chairs and instruments are set up under the sky, with ancient walls and stairs around. It was worth evey penny (it's a range of prices from about 150 kn to 250 kn).

I'm going back again, tomorrow!

“Beautiful building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Free if youth the Dubrovnik pass, the rectors palace has a lot of different historical exhibits. The building itself is very beautiful, the exhibitions are interesting but the artefacts explanation could be more extensive sometimes.
There was a violin concert whilst we were there and acoustics were fabulous.
