“"Top Notch Hotel"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

My stay at Hotel Neptun was first class from the arrival to the departure. My room was extremely clean and modern, comfortable bed, flat-panel TV, satellite, CNN, BBC, also LIVE Barclays Premier League matches. The hotel has 1st class amenities, WI-FI, gym, spa, swimming pools, restaurants etc. Hotel also has excellent sea-side location, incredible views of Adriatic Sea, beautiful sunsets and short distance outside the Old City. Short bus ride or taxi to the Old City, the bus runs frequently and tickets are available at the front desk at a discount.
Hotel staff was excellent, friendly and helpful, guest services also helped me book my flight to Zagreb, overall the staff always met my needs.

The breakfast buffet and dinners were all amazing, top quality and huge variety for picky eaters, be sure to order a freshly made omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, also try the octopus risotto and the smoked ham, all excellent!
Overall a fantastic hotel with everything you would want, I will definitely be back!

This is the second time I've stayed at the Importanne Resort and again it was excellent. The room was a sea view to die for, with a nice balcony. The moment we came all the staff were so friendly and attentive and the housekeeping came at after 12pm, which was perfect if you wanted to sleep in a bit. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. I was impressed to see that the resort now offers a vast range of breakfast foods for people with restricted diets such as dairy free/gluten free.
It was August and we had no problems finding sun beds on the beach and there was always someone there to help us move umbrellas a chairs around. I would highly recommend the amazing cocktails at the beach bar, I wish I was having one now! It's such a beautiful calming atmosphere at the resort, yet it's only a short bus ride from the old town and taxi's at night aren't too expensive to get back. This is the perfect place for a holiday in Dubrovnik.

Stayed here for 3 days after a cruise. Booked a standard room but was great. Big room and bathroom with a side sea view. Very clean , great breakfast buffet. Helpful friendly staff. Peaceful location, great view Didn't eat at hotel but caught bus into old town or walked along to the local bars & restaurants. Would recommend staying in Lapad rather than old town

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. Pleasantly surprised our room had 3 bedrooms instead of 2 bedrooms which was great for our boys who could have a room each. On the plus side I would say morning buffet breakfast was fantastic with so much choice! Very friendly hotel staff throughout the hotel. If the sea is calm it's great to be able to jump into it from the hotels rocks which are fitted with metal rails so you can get out of the water easily. Evening restaurants are ok but nothing special and quite pricey. Regular bus to Dubrovnik is very reliable and just outside hotel. Not so good would be the swimming pool near the sun- beds is saltwater which didn't go down well with the kids. If the sea is choppy it's too dangerous to go into the water. The indoor pool was out of action during our stay and before we arrived as it was mentioned in another trip advisor review a few weeks previously. Wifi signal was very poor in our room which was frustrating. It's a pity the reception area is so formal and has limited number of comfy chairs. For evening ambience you need to go down to one of the hotel bars which overlook the sea but are exposed as they don't have glass windows but they do play music do its very pleasant if the weather is warm in late evening. There is a delightful walk along the hotel pathway, next to the shoreline to Lapad beach area which takes only about 15 minutes to walk to a few lively restaurants, tourist shops and cafes.
Prices are not cheap anywhere in Croatia so you just get used to this fact but drinks seem to be where the costs rack up quickly. Finally the hotel receptionist kept our passports when we checked in which we assumed as normal procedure. When we came to check out and requested our passports back, she had completely forgotten she had kept them and kept asking us if we were sure we didn't have them! We were very annoyed about this and very anxious that she had lost them as she went through several drawers looking for them. Eventually they turned up in an envelope which had been incorrectly labelled. She was really apologetic about this but clearly the system needs sorting regarding this. Overall it was a fairly positive experience.

Our stay at the Neptun left us feeling like royalty. Our room, although on the lower price point compared to the other room options, was spacious with a beautiful view. The buffets had lots of options for our dietary restrictions(dairy/gluten). Every need of ours was handled with grace and sofistication from a large and accommodating staff 24 hrs a day. Would gladly stay here again.

I spent most of my time gazing at the Adriatic Sea, but that's why you stay at Neptun. It has gorgeous views and is a great place to watch the sun slide over the horizon. Our room was modern and very clean and the staff responded to our inquiries and requests without hesitation. The breakfast and dinner buffet kept us full and featured a wide assortment of food, even for those with discriminating tastes. Gobble up the octopus salad and tell Igor we said hello.

It's a quick taxi trip to the Old City and hotel staff are always available to arrange transportation. But honestly, I enjoyed returning to Neptun from the more frenzied pace of Dubrovnik's Old City. I'd shuffle down to the On The Rocks Cocktail & Lounge Bar and grab a drink with friends new and old and maybe jump into the water. They also have several pools, but I always chose the sea.

Oh and don't forget to ask the staff for extracurricular activities. Sailing at sunset, an island boat cruise, scuba diving and snorkeling. At Neptun, they connect you with the best.

Comfort, cleanliness and gorgeous views are more than enough reasons for me to return or for you to consider booking a stay.

Very nice physical facility and very good food both at the breakfast buffet and Zoe restaurant. We also had a great waiter at Zoe restaurant. The reason I wanted to write the review, however, is that we booked the absolute best cruise around the Elaphite Islands from this hotel. We went out on a small speedboat. The captain of the boat was Rob Raguz---------------very fun guy. There were 5 clients total in the group. The weather was perfect. We cruised to Lopud, got out, walked around for an hour, then got back in the boat. We then cruised to a different spot-----secluded------------and jumped off the side of the boat and swam. Stayed there for a while, then cruised to Sipan for lunch. Had a great time there as well as a great lunch. Swam off the dock of the hotel (where we had lunch) afterwards, then got back in the boat. Cruised around again, this time to look at Dubrovnik from the Adriatic-------------very cool. We were out 8 hours total for a fraction of what others charge-------------this was one of the best deals we had while in Dubrovnik. I would absolutely look up Rob Raguz and try to book something with him.

We were very disappointed with housekeeping services at the hotel. We stayed 2 nights. We were with our daughter and had to ask several times for the hotel to bring up a bed for her---------even though they knew she was going to be in the room when we booked the hotel. They finally delivered the bed and bedding at 10:30 at night. Our daughter ended up making the bed. We never got housekeeping services after our first night and had to ask several times for the appropriate number of towels for the 3 of us. This was really annoying.
