“Good place to stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Good hotel in a great location, only 20mins walk from the old town and within walking distance to the beach. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day with fresh towels and bedding provided. There was plenty of choice in the breakfast buffet with cooked breakfasts, fresh fruits, cold meats, cereals, yoghurts and croissants all available. The pool area was always clean and the only downside was that the gym was being refurbished while we were there. A new restaurant was opening next door to the hotel and there were another 2 just a couple of minutes walk away along with an excellent bakery so there's no need to walk to the old town if you're a bit tired. All in all a good hotel and a great city, if you're looking for a good value hotel in Dubrovnik then this is the place to stay.

This was a wonderful hotel and met all our needs and we even got a room with a view of the water. We were lucky in finding this place on a Friday night for Sat. and Sun. when we realized that the place in Old Dubrovnik wasn't going to work for us after staying a night! The bathroom was excellent with a good shower and the bed was comfortable. The room has all the usual things you find in a hotel other than for coffee/tea making appliances. The breakfast was very good and convenient. It is also a gorgeous walk to Old Dubrovnik. We stopped and took several pictures and went down to a park-like area on our walk in. It was not a bad walk even at night when we came back. The front desk staff was helpful in calling the bus station to find out the times for our bus to Kotor. It's a nice clean hotel as well.

Lero is a fairly large hotel, but our room(301) looked recently redecorated and was in excellent shape and clean and rather modern equipped. The breakfast is a mass happening, but as far I could see there was almost everything, you could think off.
It takes 20 minutes to walk downhill to the old center, but very conveniently there is bus 4 opposite the hotel with a good frequency costing 12 kn (if bought in the news kiosk).

Room Tip: Front room could be noisy with open windows

Just had two weeks holiday in Croatia, my daughter and i stayed at the Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik.
The hotel was first class and the staff were wonderful.,food was great with plenty of variety.Bedding and towels changed daily. The only thing we missed was a balcony as there wasnt any available when we were there.Beautiful places to see but beaches are mostley pebbley. We had a great holiday and would deffinatley go again.

Just returned from Hotel Lero - small double room, very modern and nicely decorated and so clean - maids come in every day with clean towels and make beds etc. No tea and coffee making facilities in room so take your own as we did. Do feel though that this hotel is more geared up for the coach parties and businessmen (hence maid walked into our room at 8.00 a.m. on 2 occasions!!!). Hotel Lero take note some of us are on holiday to relax. The breakfast was average but you could usually find something to fill up on. Can't understand why bacon is so hard to come by - you get a plate of fat. Pool very clean but the water at this time of the year was freezing but didn't stop us going in to cool off on the very hot days we got. Towels are provided at the pool. Hotel also need to put out lunch menus as we had a bit of a job when trying to get a sandwich - they said they were printing the menus "that day" but the next day no menus but must say they do a very nice cheese sandwich. To the right of the hotel a few minutes walk there is a sandwich bar and they do very nice sandwiches also. Hotel lacks signs for anything to be honest - gym? sauna? not to be found. It is a 20 minute walk into old town as all the reviews say and it is a very pleasant scenic walk. Did this most nights there and back with no problem. Bus cheap - stops right outside hotel if you don't feel like walking. Old Town lovely at night and there were a lot of nice places to eat and drink - main strand great to people watch and there was musical entertainment every night - although some were very expensive. Do try the Magellan nearly opposite the Lero for a drink (upstairs) very reasonable and a lovely meal (downstairs). The staff were excellent in there. Would definitely say this hotel is value for money as most of the ones that are nearer to the old town are very very expensive and worth the money. Did have heavy rain on our last day and the forecast was not great for the following few days - glad I packed the brolly!!!!!! Would avoid May in future though but did get sun on 5 of the days and it was very hot and managed a nice sun tan

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor over looking pool - no problem with any noise. Just one night when there w...

This doesn't get rave reviews but it should comfortably fit the bill for most people. It's certainly value for money. About a 20 minute stroll to the entrance of the Old Town, for a fair bit of it alongside the coast with splendid views, and there are plentiful buses if you don't fancy the walk. Rooms are a decent size and bathrooms are modern and clean. Breakfast was a bit samey and the evening buffet looked eminently missable on the one night we didn't fancy going all the way into town - there is a great little café over the road to the left and about 100 yards away - and wifi only works in the lobby area. But these are minor gripes as it was an otherwise good place to stay in a great place to visit.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, chosen because it is closer to the old town than most hotels at the same price point, and it is on the number 4 bus route from the Pile Gate (in case I didn't want to walk back). Rooms are a decent size, with TV, wardrobe, desk and chair - mine was at the back, overlooking the pool, and the bed was comfortable, offering good support. The wi-fi worked fine. Other reviewers have described this as a good 3-star hotel with no frills, which is true - but soap from a dispenser in the ensuite shower room means that it never be more than a 3-star. The shower tray was completely flat, with no ridges for grip - so take care stepping in and out, because it's very easy to slip - a wet foot on a wet, smooth tray = no grip! The continental breakfast was acceptable (a good spread, but "cardboard" cornflakes, and cheap fruit juices) - hot food was limited to two types of sausage, two types of eggs, and streaky bacon. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the night receptionist went out of his way to provide a remote for the TV after I discovered that the one for my room was missing at 11pm. If you prefer the facilities of a hotel, rather than an apartment, then at €120 per night, the Lero is comparatively good value for its location in Dubrovnik.
