Ive been to Dubrovnik on two occasions over the last couple of years and stayed at Dubrovnik B&B both times. Its been a thoroughly enjoyable experience both times and Srdjan has always comed forward as a very helpful host. The location of the Bed and breakfast is excellent as it is cituated just outside one of the gates leading into the old town, so you couldnt wish for a more strategic place to stay in Dubrovnik.

The rooms comes in great sizes, are very clean and the bathroom is (although a bit small) very delicate. The rather thin walls leaves you hear when people walks in the stairs and slam their doors - but I`ve never fancied this a big problem. At night you could occasionally hear some music from the bar/coffeshop down in the first floor - but the windows comes with good isolating/blending effects on what both sound and light concerns.

I`ve never tried the breakfasts on offer either (it gets served at the coffe/bar in the first floor) so I`m in no position to judge the quality on that - but I`ll take its common dalmatian breakfasts (rather continental) on offer.

If you, like me, is not into luxury hotels but rather prefers small and kozy places I`ll give Dubrovnik B&B my best recommandations.

I couldent disagree more with his comments,
The B&B was excellent, very clean and the owner most helpful,
His guided tour was a great help. I had been in Dubrovnik twice before, and his additional knowledge was a great help.
The food at Mia Culpa was superb, as was the Arsenel as reccomended.
They kept our cases for us until 5.30 pm, no charge and loaded our heavy cases into the Taxi.
The only thing i found to be difficult was the stairs, but that is because my wife is not good on stairs after having a stroke two years ago, but still managed to do it.
Perhaps the visitor had an attitude problem, I would definitly disregard his reccomendations if he claims to be a "Professional"

I went to Dubrovnik last week as an invited presenter at "The Best In Heritage" event.

I choose "Dubrovnik B&B" as accommodation ([--]), because I do not like huge standard luxury hotels, equal al over the world.

All went reasonably well until the last day, a Sunday. I had to leave to the airport by 12.30 p.m so I thought I would profit my last non-working morning in Dubrovnik. But Mr. Srdjan Gizdic "kicked" us out of the room by 10 am... as he said, other guests were arriving and he needed the room.

Although 10 am is NOT a checkout time anywhere in the world, I tried do be cooperative; I asked him to keep our luggage (2 pieces) until 12 or 12.30. He said "yes, please pay 50 Kn". Obviously I did not, and walked the streets of this beautiful city with my luggage...

My point is not the "price": 50 Kn is nothing, really. But the attitude, that is a disgrace for the image of Dubrovnik. This is not a decent way to treat a guest. It looks like Dubrovnik people only care for "caching" the tourist, and do not for the image of the town. I hope, I know, this is not the case.

I'll be back to Dubrovnik soon, but will NEVER stay at "Dubrovnik B&B" again.

Dubrovnik bed and breakfast is superbly located just outside the Ploce gate leading into the Old Town. As many reveiwers have commented the accommodation is spotlessly clean and simply appointed. However, I would suggest that the rooms are quite dear (even by Dubrovnik standards) and there can be a problem with noise - the walls are very thin.

The sooner Mr Gizdic rids himself of the notion that breakfast might form part of the total deal the better - why doesn't he just supply the accommodation? He is a man of decided views and whilst I appreciated his tour of the city, his plugs for certain restaurants and the like annoyed me slightly.

Mr Gizdic tried to be helpful and I would rate this Guest House above average (given its location) albeit with some reservations.
