“Spectacular views with a great restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

We stayed at the Hotel Bellevue which is about half a mile north of the Old Town towards the new marina. The view from our balcony on the second floor overlooking the private beach was spectacular. The room and bath were generous and functional with most of the water from the shower confined to the tub. The breakfast was very good, but not quite as good as the Hotel Artemide in Rome where we stayed earlier on this trip. The beach is impressive, but get there before 11:30 am on sunny days during the summer and even in September if you want a beach chair. Cab to the small airport is about half hour and 300 kn. There's only one terminal so you can't get lost.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and were welcomed with sparkling wine and fresh roses. The hotel exudes luxury from the enormously comfortable bed to the large bathroom with L'Occitane products. We could have spent our whole trip sitting on our balcony overlooking the gorgeous blue water and listening to the waves crash down below. It was so peaceful. While the beach is not private, there are plenty of sunbeds just for hotel guests. Breakfast was also quite tasty. The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to the Old Town along a road with stunning views of the bay. It's a splurge but worth it!

We spent 11 nights in this wonderful hotel and enjoyed our holiday immensely. It was a special treat to ourselves to celebrate my husband's retirement. The sevice was excellent, the food excellent, the room spacious, the huge bed blissfully comfortable and a view to die for from the balcony (which even has an electric sun shade). You couldnt go wrong with any room in this hotel as far as i know. You even get I'Occitane products in the bathroom. This hotel puts quality and service first.
The bay beneath the hotel is lovely and looks stunning. Clear clean water, cliffs, wild herbs and pine trees. We never got sick of looking at this view from our balcony, and we enjoyed swimming and snorkling in the bay.

The walk into Dubrovnik is perfect too, with lovely views and plenty of shade. The bus service is also excellent if you dont want to walk. Needless to say, Dubrovnik is a very special magical place and so are the out-lying villages and Islands. What a wonderful coastline! I'm only sorry we are not well off enough to stay here again and again! (I still live in hope that we may be able to return though!)

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms without balconys so pay more and get one - the view is too good not to en...

A pleasant 15 minute walk down hill into the historic old town. Stunning sea views from our balcony and the restaurant. We snorkelled and swam every morning from the hotels own beach before breakfast!

Friendly staff, clean good size rooms with all mod cons. Nice indoor swimming with a stunning view. Nice to see free wifi throughout the hotel. Child friendly. Hotel booked us a great taxi from the airport and the best table at the restaurant at the top of the cable car.

Great free breakfast (including lots of specials cooked to order) and cheap cocktails of the day.

The only drawbacks: there is no outside pool and a limited number of sunbeds but we always managed to find space. Would definitely stay there again!

I have stayed in some pretty good 5* hotels around the world over many years, but none have had the superb quality of service that I experienced in the Hotel Bellvue. As many other people have mentioned there is literally nothing the staff won't do, and you never feel like you are imposing with any request whatsoever.

I'm a pretty fussy eater and even their bar was able to knock me up some food just exactly as I wanted - and normally a very good way for me to measure a hotel!

We have been at the Bellevue before chartering our sailing yacht and had a very positive impression of it. We had a big superior room upgrade and were surprised by the size of the the flat we had and the great view. The beach is cool, clean and kind of a private part in Dubrovnik. Service is excellent and this is the best part of this hotel + the view. There are here and there things which need to be fixed and the interior need a refresh after ten years as there are more modern hotels in this price range with similar service, but in general it is a recommendable hotel. Only because of the interior it's not excellent, but the service indeed is. They really take care about the guests and are very obliging.

The restaurant was on the other side the most expensive one we have eaten in Dubrovnik, but very good with good ideas how to combine Mediterranean food.

It's close to the old town and we liked it. Breakfast was good, too, but did not like that you have to pay for a Cacao extra.

Just back from 4 nights at Hotel Bellevue, we absolutely loved it.

We had booked a superior room with balcony and sea view and were incredibly impressed as it was more like a suite - with a separate bedroom and spacious sitting room. As everything is relatively new, the décor is fresh, modern and very functional. The room rate was expensive but you get your money's worth with this standard. It was great have tea and coffee making facility as well as fresh fruit in the room when we arrived too.

We overlooked the great cove and beach which is public. On the other side of the beach restaurant is the hotel's private beach but in all honestly you can use either. There is plenty of sun loungers in both areas and plenty of towels for when come out of the hotel lift to get to the cove. The food and service at the beach restaurant is very good as are the cocktail of the day offering which is discounted. My husband used the spa for some treatments and was impressed with the facilities.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We also asked the hotel to arrange for private hotel transfers and was extremely impressed with the efficient service on both trips.

It is only a pleasant 12-15 mins walk out of the hotel to the Old Town so a great location as it was always lovely and peaceful when we came home at night. Breakfast in the morning was adequate - local cheese, bread and meats particularly good.

As with all 5 star hotels, would recommend not using the mini-bar as the prices are excessive.

If you can, we would absolutely love to return to this amazing gem of a hotel. We had a truly perfect, short holiday here.
