We stayed at the campsite for 3 nights at the end of our trip in an on site provided mobile home & found it a really enjoyable & peaceful end to our trip. The mobile home that we stayed in (5a) was slap bang in the centre of the campsite. Only having seen grainy floor plans on the campingadriatic/booking.com website, we weren't sure what to expect of our 'home' and boy, were we pleasantly surprised! There are 3 comfort mobile homes (more luxurious & stand alone) and 4 studio/standard ones (which we stayed in - one large home split into 2 homes) and all are only about a month or so old so are really clean/modern and bright. Our home consisted of a great little kitchen (2 gas hobs, fridge/freezer, crockery, glassware, cutlery, pans, etc), a bedroom leading off the kitchen (with door) which had 2 single beds, wardrobe & cupboard space, a microwave oven/grill & great aircon and a large bathroom with shower (with an andless supply of hot water), loo & sink. All homes have a big covered decking area with tables & chairs & the studio homes are separated off from your neighbour with slatted screening. The homes aren't massive but they are much bigger and far nicer than what we expected and we would definitely stay there again.
Facility wise, the campsite has it all - there's a supermarket selling everything you might need (inc bus tickets - 12 HRK as opposed to 15 if you buy on the bus), a restaurant (we ate there once & the food was reasonable but very cheap), blocks of toilets/showers (handy as checkout from the homes is before 10am) and free working wifi in public areas. The beach (Copacabana) is a 5 minute walk down the hill and is a nice little clean beach with great views - there's a nice restaurant/bar here too & you can also hire sunbeds (30 HRK each for the day). What's great about the campsite is that the whole area is owned by Valamar Hotels so you can use any of the facilities (pools/restaurants/bars/entertainment) in any of the 5 hotels. We used the pool & bar at the Club Valamar which was the nearest & although it was supposedly only a 3* we thought it was great. The pool overlooks Copacabana beach & all the public areas are really lovely and modern (funky rattan furniture everywhere). If we came back to Dubrovnik we might stay here also!
The location is also great - it's at most a 10 minute bus ride from the old town. The No 6 leaves every 10 mins (20 after 10pm or so) from outside the main road (follow the road out the campsite to the end where the roundabout is & turn to your right up the hill. The bus stop is on the opposite side of the road. The no 7 bus goes direct to Kantafig (main bus station) & takes 15 mins. Unfortunately the service is hourly but we managed to time it just right to get the airport bus back (which leaves from Kantafig & you are guaranteed a seat as opposed to getting on in the old town). If you are arriving from Kantafig there are loads of taxis & it costs 60-70HRK to get to Solitudo.
Bring linen/towels - these aren't provided but if not you can rent a bundle for 10 euros/75HRK.
If you are light sleepers, book a comfort home as you can pretty much hear every move your neighbour makes in the studio homes!
The only slight niggle that we had was an additional charge of 75HRK (£8.25) which appeared on our bill. This was for the cleaning of the mobile home (which we had done ourselves anyway & we had no linen to wash as had brought our own!). Not sure why there was a compulsory charge or why we were not told but that may have been the fault of who we booked through.
All in all though, a great end to our holiday!
