“incredible service in a beautiful setting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

we chose the hotel at random having read the reviews. it was our first visit to Dubrovnik and we were initially concerned that the location was not close to the old town. in fact that proved to be a benefit because the hotel was only a short taxi ride away and sat in a splendid bay a short walk along the sea from a very pleasant small town full of restaurants, shops and children's play areas. as we found out Dubrovnik itself, although fantastic is full of tourists from the cruise ships and it is actually a relief to get a bit further away. as for the hotel itself it has the benefit of both indoor and outdoor pools, a nice spa and a reasonable restaurant. the service everywhere was so friendly and efficient. on one occasion we left our daughter's cardigan in the restaurant and they returned it having had it laundered.we left after one week feeling that it was perhaps one of the best hotels we had ever stayed.

Room Tip: just make sure the room is at the rear overlooking the sea. there are some rooms on the road side.

I recently stayed at the Royal Princess in Dubrovnik. The rooms, location and facilities were all exactly what I had hoped for and the first four days of my trip passed very happily. But the hotel really came into its own when I fell ill on the 5th day with a serious condition. The Quality Manager on duty and her staff were superb and had me conveyed to the Hospital in Dubrovnik centre. They sent a wonderful colleague with us to translate and help navigate the daunting layout of the hospital.
Quite against my expectation, I had superb treatment and saw four specialists in as many hours who were able to register me as an EU citizen and allow me access to the healthcare system. Leonora, our translator was virtuosic in her handling of the situations and bureaucracy.
I was advised to remain in Dubrovnik rather than risk traveling and the Hotel Manager followed up medical advice with their on call GP. Then made every attempt to make the remaining days as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
I am profoundly grateful to the staff of the Princess Royal hotel for their care throughout. It certainly was the people that made the difference. The health system in Croatia is in fact exemplary and in spite of the attending anxieties of illness, I did continue to enjoy the excellent facilities and service of this super hotel. Many thanks to Tatjana J. & Leonora T. and their team. Gerry - London

There were many 5 star features of this hotel. Fantastic location especially with a sea view room. Views to die for! The rooms were superb with separate sitting room and two showers / toilets. Only 15 mins from old city, easy bus ride. Staff were very helpful and service was good. In fact better to stay outside of the old city with the influx of cruise ships.
There were three main complaints with the Royal Princess. The first is why a 5 star hotel in 2015 cannot supply decent wifi? Snails pace! The second was the standard of the restaurant food. 3 star at best. And lastly, there were parts of the resort such as the beach access and cocktail bar off limits due to conference private functions.

For location and the standard of room I would consider the Royal Princess when in Dubrovnik.

We loved out stay at this hotel. On arrival, we were given complimentary drinks. Our room was ready straightaway, even though we were 2 hours before Check In.

The rooms were really big, decorated to high standards and were always very clean. You can get the free wifi all over the complex. We paid a little extra for a sea view suite & it was definitely worth it - the sunsets are stunning.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, always saying hello to us and asking if we were enjoying our stay.

Get a sea-view room, fantastic. Staff before booking were superb, arranged balloons in room and champagne for special occasion.

Facilities are good, easy location, very happy.

Only frustration is wifi so slow as to be unusable but if you have no work to do.

Would thoroughly recommend as a weekend away.
