“Great food and great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

We stumbled upon this place when we were waiting to go on a three island cruise and needed some breakfast. We couldn't believe the quality of the food when it arrived, I had the french toast and my boyfriend had the poached egg. Resturant quality food for breakfast for around £15 for the two of us, that included two tea and two juices! It was so tasty we went back on our last day for breakfast and then decided to eat there for a late lunch before we headed to the airport.

Even the food on the bar menu was tasty. I had tagliatelle with grilled tuna, and my boyfriend had chicken stir fry. Each around £7-10 pounds each. The a la carte looked good too, but we were only having a light bite.

Highly recommend it!

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

I had two nights in Dubrovnik and chose to eat both dinners at Amfora. I was pleased with my decision. Sea bass encrusted in vegetables, homemade pasta with prawns, tomatoes and mozzarella. Everything tasted fresh, not like the restaurants that just claim it is fresh. The tomatoes tasted like they came from the private garden out the warehouse loading dock. The fish tasted like they came out of the water an hour ago, not out of the refrigerator. Don’t know what to select from the menu, walk over to the kitchen counter and engage Chef Christina in conversation. You end up with a pleasing selection not on the menu. “Great food in Dubrovnik”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We ate here last night and all I can say that the food was excellent. I ate the suckling pig and my husband ate the tuna - he commented that it was the best tuna he had ever eaten. The wine can be served by the glass - I opted for the Croatian Dingac very flavourful complimenting the suckling pig. We had starters, mains, 2 drinks each and water and it came to 460 Kuna about £25 per head. I also must say that the service was first class - very attentive and there was a big group in the restaurant but our waiter was excellent and we will be returning here before we leave wonderful Dubrovnik.

“A Real Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

This was probably the only real restaurant we stumbled into while visiting Dubrovnik. Other places had a definitive touristy vibe to them. Not that would be mutually exclusive with being a good restaurant, but Amfora definetly put an effort the menu and presentation. Food was tasty, everything was well presented and we got along with English perfectly.

The wine list could have used some more information on the wines, instead of just name, area of origin and whether it was red or white. The waiter couldn't help out a lot either.

Desserts were really good value, price in general was more than decent.

“Great food, definitely worth leaving old town for!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

We went to restaurant after reading trip advisor! Worth the short bus ride from pile gate, 4/5 stops.
Food was excellent and great price! For 3 course meal and a bottle of wine for 2, worked out approx £65/£70. Been in Croatia fir 2 weeks and was a refreshing change from the pizza/pasta restaurants that line the old city in Dubrovnik. book a table on the terrace as worth it! Staff were lovely, helping with wine choices and bus Times etc. Going for a second trip before going hone. Try the tuna steak, it was amazing!!! And chocolate fondant cake was pretty much perfect! Restaurant was a great treat and worth the visit.
